What Is Udp Connection???

For some reason with the release of 1.4 i can no longer host games. I get the error message saying i have to open UDP connections in order to "speak" with the online lobby. I dont know what this means i cant find it under any of the internet settings options on my computer, i am on a router and it doesnt say anything about UDP when i log into it to configure it? i also have a firewall which i have enabled dow 1.4 to have full access, but it has nothing about UDP either? WHAT is udp!!! and how do i enable it?? im so confused.. any help plz

Ahh. I took CISCO last year and I remember learning about udp and some other acronym. Make sure your firewall is disabled and any third party programs are not running.

thx, but ive alredy tried that and it doesnt work, i have basically no other programs running on my comp besides system ones, and i did disable the firewall altogether and it doesnt work. The strange thing is i have a laptop too and when i connect it to my network (not wireless) it has the same problem. It must be something they changed with patch 1.4, and my router.. as far as i can tell but i may be wrong
