"You are attempting to install WA to the wrong locale"

That's the error message I'm getting during the patching part of the install. After that I can install WA but it won't work, so I think it has something to do with that error message during patching.

Are you using different language versions?
Have you tried reinstalling the game?

I've had exactly the same problem. Going by the rather oriental looking characters on the CDs and on one of the startup screens, I think it is the international version. I've brought it up to version 1.3 with the online multiplayer tool, which has been fine, but 1.4 is proving awkward. I've tried reinstalling, to no avail other than another 20 minutes waiting for the files to download...

similar problem here. I have the german version (DoW and WA). After patching i read the message and then nothing happen. When i click on autoplay the screen apperas. the i click on install and simply nothin happen all the time ... i cant install the game.

After patching to 1.4 i had to manually add the regions.ini. I also checked the WK40.ini after patching and there isn´t a line like local lang german as there was before (1.01, 110 pp).

same problem, if I try to patch DOW from 1,3 to 1,4 ..
I also have an oriental CD.
Where I can find the right patch???

This is another problem than mine. You need to manually add the Regions.ini as this ones seems missing for some people after patching to 1.4.

I try to explain better:
I've an asiatic version -asiatic signs on the cd and in the first screen of the game- , patched to 1,03. When I try to patch to 1,04 both from online game and from a downloaded patch, I get "wrong locale...".
What I can do? I need 1,04 to play WA!!!!

I've an original CD (here is the photo!) I've a working cd key!
IS NOT POSSIBILE TO PATCH IT TO 1,4!!!! So I can't play online, and I can't do the manual install of WA!!!!!!!!!

There appears to be a problem with that version of the game - you wont get a response from THQ here, contact their official support (see your manual). You may also want to bug Ubisoft.
