Patch Errors

I just bought WA and it says I have to upgrade to 1.4 before installing so I let WA install but it says Error patch corrupted please download again so I started up dawn of war and went on multiplayer to upgrade from there. It upgrades 1.00 to 1.01 fine but then it wontc upgrade to 1.10 I keep getting that error and it does the same when I try to download from sites. Now Somwhere I saw a thread saying to run some md5sums to make sure it isnt corrupt and mine isnt it then said a few other stuff and one of the things was to check the Dawn of War Directory and check for a Patch.ERR and I found it and it says "ENTRY: W40k\Locale\English\W40kData-Sound-Speech.sga" Then it said manually extract it from the cd but Iv extracted Data1, Data2, Data3 and I cant find this file. I really want to play WA so any help would be really nice. Thanks

Anybody? I really want to play WA. Should I return my Dawn of War game, is it faulty?

Your game is fine, the patches are all messed up. I for one can't install patch 1.20 on my pc because some error on a file. I installed the very same game with the very same patch (manual download) on my laptop and it worked. There's a whole world of pain when it comes to patch this game :(

Oh and about the data extraction thing, the file names on the cab files dont have any "-" or "_", so check if you have an "W40kDataSoundSpeech.sga" on the extracted files and try to rename it.

I had to uninstall and reinstall the orginal DoW before I could install the expansion pack and patches.

Iv unistalled and reinstalled about 10 times now and honestly there isnt any files called tht even without the "-" and "_" theres a bunch of files and ieach Data and the rest of files are a jumble of letters and numbers. I was really looking forward to playing this game but Iv tried everything I think Ill just take WA back since i still have the reciete. Thanks anyway tho.

Kenos the same thing happens to me. I have to play 1.01 all alone because the stupid errors.

Is there not a way U can make the patches install anyway even if the files are corrupt or not and why does 1.01 work and not the others the only difference iv noticed is that the 1.01 installs differently.

Ok Im following the instructions here word for word. I downloaded the md5sums and ran it and the two md5 sums match perfectly so I know the patch isnt corrupted.
It then says make sure I have enough space. I have 10.5GB free on my C:\ and 13.2GB on my F:\ (DoW Installed on F:\) so its not that.
Then it tells me to look at the Patch.ERR and this file says "ENTRY: W40k\Locale\English\W40kData-Sound-Speech.sga" So I extract all the files and cant find this "W40kData-Sound-Speech.sga" now this is a list of exactly every file and size I found in the extracted Datas.

I dont know what else to do and Im sorry if im bothering you its just I love dawn of war and I really want to play WA and play DoW Online.

WOAH I FIXED IT, Hey everybody thts getting problems try this, Ok when I installed the ptach it does the corrupt thing then closes I check the DoW directory for the Patch.ERR and find wat file is not working now all I did was copy that file to another folder then move it back replacing the original now I had to do this with a few files but after that the patch worked fine :D IM SO HAPPY. *Sun setting, Kenosos runs into distance with DoW in one hand WA in the other*
