Research Problem.

Hello all.

I do hope I'm posting this in the right forum, but I'm not sure if this is a bug(in which case it SHOULD go here) or just an oversight on my own part(In which case, I suppose it should be in General, or even Strategy).

Basically, I cannot seem to access certain Research options when playing.

In particularly, I am currently fighting a battle as the Eldar, versus Imperial Guard, and I cannot for the life of me find out how to research either Mobilize for War OR Annihiliate the Enemy. These are of course essential for Fire Prism and Avatar, amongst other things.

Now I've built at least one of every construction the Eldar have(all the Shrines and Portals etc.), and I've checked, doublechecked, triplechecked, and NONE of the buildings have ANY research icons still to click.

Can someone please tell me where should MFW and ATE show up, and after what pre-requisites? I've even tried to find online a Winter Assault Tech Tree that shows everything, but had no luck.

However, given that I've checked so thoroughly EVERY building the Eldar have, and no further research is possible in any of them, it leads me to wonder if this is a bug. If so, is it one that's been reported before, and how might I put it right?

FYI, I'm running Ver. 1.4.0.0, and obviously with WA of course(as mentioned above).

Oh, and now I come to think of it, I encountered a similar problem the other night, trying to research the SM Land Raider. It said it requires a Research option whose name I can't remember right now, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I thoroughly checked every Marine building possible, and that Research option(whatever it may have been called) DIDn't show up.

I already had some Terminators fighting BTW, from which you may gather that I did indeed have a captured Relic, and so we can rule that one out.

So far had no problem getting the Baneblade for Guard - Mobilise for War has been showing up in their Mech Command.

But I'm stumped on why some of these Research options seem to be absent for Eldar and Marines.

Can anyone help me here? I'd be grateful.

Terminators don't need a Relic in Winter Assault to be built, so we can't rule that one out :)
To build the Land Raiders (and the Predator Annihilators) you have to research an upgrade in the Machine Pit once you have hit Tier 3.
I'm sure that you can research Mobilize for War in the Soul Shrine, and the Annihilate the Enemy upgrade is either in the Soul Shrine or the Support Portal.

Thank you sooo much! I've checked it and you're right - at least on MFW, and I'm guessing THAT will lead to ATE!

God, I looked in there about four or five times and failed to notice it. I think something must be wrong with my eyes.

No, seriosuly, I've begun to worry a bit over the last couple of years that my eyesight is starting to go, as a result of looking at a monitor all day. I used to have pretty-much perfect eyesight, but I believe it's in decline.

Ah, I'd already captured the relic before trying to have Terms BTW, simply because I thought it was still necessary.

As for the Research option needed for Lan Raiders, I'll re-check next game, but now that you've eased my mind on the Eldar, I suspect i'll find it was just my eyesight again.

Thanks ever so much for the help there, and I'm sorry to have raised a false alarm on account of my eyes. You know what I think the problem was? It's 'cos MFW isn't "coloured", it's monochrome, and MAYBE I thought it was a greyed not-yet-available icon, so I didn't click it.

Not REALLY sure. Think I may need to give serious consideration to getting an eyetest.
