Installation ended prematurely with an error

Of course it failed to specify what error it was.Any ideas?

Just to bitch at Relic. Where are installation and patch logs? With this many problems in patching and installing and still no logs to help us see what went wrong? Tought you would have figured out at 1.2 that you need to add LOGS to 1.3 and 1.4 and WA but NO!. Anyway, now that his has been said there is not much you can really do since there is no way to check what went wrong. Just uninstall and reinstall, rinse and repeat for a while and get really annoyed and uninstall whole windows, reinstall windows spend one day of updating drives and try again just to notice it failed again :).

I was having a problem installing WA; kept getting an read error. I switched to my old hp cd-rw drive, and the game installed.

Heres how meppa helped me to fix it :

-Open msdos

-Type msiexec.exe /a "F:\WinterAssault.msi" TARGETDIR="d:\WinterAssault"

Where F is your cdrom drive and D is where the drive DoW is on is

-After it all finishes move contents of directory to your dow directory
