DOW GOTY Does not work

Just bought DOW goty ed. Install process went fine I go to play the game and it crashes usually during first mission movie or right when player gets control.

So i download all the patches i find on fileplanet it wont let me install any of them says its wrong region or something even tho i use the english patches.

I allrdy updated vid drivers and other games i play work fine.

Are the GOTY cd's fubared or what I need help. :vikingb:

you might have to download the international patches as i think they differ from the english ones (for obvious reasons). the download links can be found somewhere on these forums.

hopefully a moderator will come along soon and point you in the right direction.

bumpage.....I'm at work now at best buy(ima pc tech) Installed it on a nvidia machine here at work its running fine. hasnt crashed yet. So is this an ati driver issue with the goty ed?

I am experiancing the same problem.

I am runnung an NVIDIA GeForce GO 6800, with the latest version driver: 6.14.10.6760

Any Help?

well i returned the game and got my money back......I dont have time for relic or ati to get this issue resolved.

The problem that needs resolving is not ati's or relics its yours, your computer obvisouly has an issue.

These could possibly be the problems.

01:46:20.79 MOD -- Warning: Failed to open folder 'W40k\Locale\english\Data'.

01:46:20.79 GAME -- Warning: Campaign 'DATA:SCENARIOS\SP\DAWNOFWAR.CAMP': the section CampaingIntro is missing!

Those are messages that I don't get, and I'd guess that the problem is a messed up install and you just needed to reinstall.

Its hard to tell because the log file always has errors in it even when nothing is wrong, you would have thought relic would have fixed that by now..........

No bud... the prob is not my computer it is a problem with the game code or ati driver compatability. i play WoW splinter cell CT, and several other modern games with no problems and actually after I returned DOW i bought black and white 2 andn it runs fine.

I also reinstalled several times..... I'm not your average user. I'm a pc tech that deals with these problems everyday unfortunatly I cant make drivers or game code work properly.

Its also a telling sign when relics forum mods dont even respond to yur thread.
