I tried to post this in a technical support forum but I don't have priviledges there.

Mr Problem: Me and my bro are LAN'd up in our apartment. He is on a wireless laptop and I'm wired into the router. When we play online we experience many difficulties such as not being able to join the same game ( about 80% of the time) and then one of us randomly getting kicked once in game (about 10% of the time). I've disabled the firewall on the router and my own PC (XP SP 2 and all) but my bro's laptop still runs the XP one for SP 2.

My Question: Is there something I can do to help solve these problems maybe with manually configuring IP's for our LAN or is this just a normal problem with LANs and online gaming.

Thanks for any help offered, it is much appreciated.

I've been fighting with this problem too. As near as I can tell you can't have more then one person on the same connection. An easy fix would be to allow us to change the port the game uses... but this has been a problem since the original DoW release so I'm not holding my breath. A work around I found is the program Hamachi , it basically emulates a lan over the internet, you can join a virtual "network" someone is hosting and play game by the lan option in WA. This is how I'm able to play with my two friends that share the same connection. Of course it's a real pain in the ass to find people that are hosting Dawn of War or Winter Assault networks. Also you have to be careful because people can see your shared network folders.

I wish Relic would address/fix this problem. At this point I feel like I waisted my money on both the original and the expansion.

Unfortunately Phos' solution is the only one that will work. DoW requires a couple of ports to be forwarded, most notably 6112, in order to use gamespy or play online, and your router can only forward a port to a single computer in your network.
