as everyone knows dow/wa doesnt really match the fluff of warhammer 40k (3 cultists able to kill 1 space marine in cc?!?!) I know there needs to be balance in a game for it to be fun but i had an idea to make it more fluffy and still fun.
first off, combine the races space marines+imperial guard and make it so the new race is called the imperium of man. in the new race it will that basicily the space marines take the place of the terminators in the new races tech tree and they will be just as strong as the terminators. chars like the liberarians and force commanders will be tier 3 like the space marines, while the imperium of mans basic infantry will be the guards men, see what im getting at?

as for the csm, so they dont kill the mperium of man early on, their teir 1 and 2 infantry will be cultists, traitor guards men, and mutants and the such. chaos marines will be tier 3 and and so will khorne zerks.

i have not figured out balance issues for eldar and orks but i would lik feed back on this idea

i will strt working on this if i get positive feed back

Idea threads get locked, sorry. You do say you will get started on this if you have positive feedback, though...you can code, right?

The idea itself is okay I suppose.

What happens to units like terminators and obliterators? Are they tier 7 or something? ;)

not a bad idea, far more fluffy. Thats for sure. And it will make the apperance of SM a rare site. Like it should be.

Moving to the correct forum. You might want to make sure your title is less vague, if you are not going to eventually make this mod it will be locked however.

they will be tier 3 and super expensive but one of the most powerfull units in the game

They are one of the most powerful anyway...sounds good.

What you are trying to do...you'll need a few dedicated hours to code the changes, and then an in-house balance team (or public).

I suggest checking out the Rebirth-mod. Not WA compatible yet though.

What hes saying its just Lua modding which many new people can do with easy. It won't be hard to do in fact I could do this in less then 30 minutes with the mod tools. So ya he could do it. Just need to tweek it as needed.
