Hello.
I bought the UK Version of Dawn of War Gold Edition (DoW GotY + WA) and have the following issue:
When I load a savegame in the singleplayer campaign, the background music dissapears.
Is this a known problem and is there any solution for this?
Thanks much.

Try going to the main menu, muting the music and then bringing the volume back up.

yeah I mean gold edition means GotY + WA so im playing the GotY Edition too.
Maybe its an issue which only appears in the GotY edition?
Thats quite possible, Ive never experienced the problem myself and I have the normal version (the solution I suggested has worked for me in other games where the music has gone dodgy, the idea being that muting the music turns it off and so bringing the volume back up forces the game to restart the music loop, evidentally that doesnt work here).

well thats bad. i hope this goty edition doesnt include other "nice" bugs of that kind.
anyone an idea for a solution?

Nobody?
Well, you know what really annoys me: Why cant they just leave the game in its original state and put the newest patch as a seperate file on the cd in this rerealese?
Instead, they somehow included the newest patch to this game so when you install it you already have 1.4 -> seems they fu*** it up by doing this.
Can anyone who has the first release version of DoW please check if he has the same issue with 1.4? That would be very nice of you.
(Only Campaign, skirmish works fine)

I have 1.0 i think....
If you have GoTY then you are patched up to 1.4.
I didnt notice this issue when loading games in the WA campaign.

Babarian;
Got one of the first 1.0 shipments of Dawn of War back in November of 2004. Installed it and each subsequent patch (1.0-1.01, 1.01-1.10, 1.10-1.20, 1.20-1.30, and 1.30 to 1.40) manually in September 2005, and have had no trouble with online play, campaign play or skirmishes, so far.

Can anyone confirm that this actually works in the GOTY/Gold edition? This may be a bug.

Thanks for the anwers.
Moe is right, anyone who has the GotY Edition and hears the background music after loading (campaign missions not skirmish!) please respond to this thread.
Otherwise I think this is a special problem of this version, hardware unrelated.
So: Are there any ways to contact the publisher about this?
They should at least release a patch for the GotY Edition to solve this problem.
Another question:
Is there perhaps a console command to turn on/off the background music?

Puh I just cant believe this.
Forget me if I sound angry, but I am slightly annoyed. THQ, Relic or who ever what crap are you selling us? :!:
If it wouldn't have been a month or so since I bought this (I only realised this problem now because I had no time to play games in the last weeks) I would bring this messy version of the game back to the shop.
Is there any chance that a member of the develoment team visits this boards or someone associated with them?
I have made a picture of the console when starting up the game, there are some strange warnings. Perhaps this could help to solve the problem?

This is not directly directed to the issue, but as you see on the pic on one pint it says "the section campaign intro is missing". What is that supossed to mean again? Is there any intro to the SP Campaign which I can't see?
When I start the 1st Mission I see a ingame cutscene where some Imperial soldiers fight against orks until the space marines arrive?
Is this ok so or should there be anything more as an Introduction?
(Im sure I will never again buy anything which has a "gold" or "GotY" Edition on it :grumble: )

I have the GoTY Edition and WA. And it does sometimes happen. (Rarley though) my suggestions are as follows.
- Update all audio drivers/Controllers for your PC. Even onbound audio needs an update once in awhile (If avaible)
- Turn down the sound settings and experiment with those within the game.
- Post a Dxdiag, since after running all the tests it does test your audio and will help if there is a problem.
DoW does not like some on-board Audio. This is un-confirmed, but with testing it might become apart of the Master Bug List.
@Babarian. Why does it say you can't load the campaign(sp?)? Have you installed any mods or tinkered with any files?

Hmmm Ok, thanks for your answer Lone Canadian.
So we have at least someone with the GOTY Edition who can confirm that it works sometimes or most of the time correctly.
To your question: No, no mods installed. And the SP Campaign works fine, except for this loading issue.
I have no onboard soundcard but a creative audio blabla something ;). I will update it and then post this dxdiag after I found out how exactly it works ;)
You know what strange is, many of the folders which are named in this warning messages dont exist or are empty.
For example there is no /art/UI/3D-MODELS/campaign_menu folder.
Or my banners and badges folders are also empty, (cept the ones I put in there myself) but still I have these badges and banners in the army painter. o_O
Perhaps they changed the folder structure in the GotY Edition, I really have no idea.
All of those warnings are normal, ignore them.
