Graphics Config Error

I just installed WA and it will not run.



When I run the game the graphics config wont start properly, how can I avoid starting with it.

When I run it I see this:

then I get a blank...

and when I try to esc:


NM

And the game wont start without doing this.

I have a 9800 pro 256, Athlon 64 3000+ and 1GB Ram on Win Xp Pro.

Do not ask me: SP2, defrag, instal drivers, restart my computer, touch my bios, reinstall, ask if I'm using a crack, talk to me about patches.

I've done them all.

Also, it would be nice if you gusy could host your own patches, wow.

EDIT: This website is absolute trash, you don't host your own updates, I can't psot pictures to my problem because the forum wont let me post URLS, WTF?

What in the hell am I supposed to do if you don't know what I'm talking about.

This is a fan run forum, we dont have any updates/patches - the DoW patches are freely available for download from numerous sources on the web but you dont need them since they are also included on the WA disk.

You cannot post a URL in your first post to prevent bots signing up and offering us viagra. You can post a url in a second post.

How are you running the game? "19:01:01.59 RUN-OPTIONS -rungamewa" is not normal.

Do you have software such as alcohol120% or Daemon tools installed? If so remove them.

Do you have any firewalls/virus scanners running? Try disabling them.

I have daemon tools but I will not remove it to play the game.

I will disable my AntiVir.

How can I fix:

"19:01:01.59 RUN-OPTIONS -rungamewa"?

I uninstalled daemon tools and it still doesn't work..

I would need to know how you are running the game, I havent seen that in a warnings.log before. Are you just clicking the desktop icon?

It sounds like your install is borked. Were you able to run DoW normally previously?
Please post your dxdiag.txt as well.

Yeah thats bad, you say not to suggest reinstalling...does that mean you've already tried that? If so, when you uninstalled WA and DoW did you go and delete the DoW install directory before reinstalling? If not then go do that now.

Ok I'll try deleting that and installing it to my D drive this time.

Do a total and utter reinstall. Also if you have 2 different HHD's or even a single partioned drive make sure its something consistant. DoW I've found from talking with different people dosn't like to be installed to places like E:\Program Files\My Games\Games that really rock\RTS\hmmm\Dow....

Make sure when you uninstall it all, you delete any remaining folders within the DoW directory. As well as any registry entires if you feel up to it. Install DoW first and try just patching that up itself to v1.4 then installing WA.
