I am trying to uninstall my DoW and WA so I can re-install on a different drive. (more space) WA uninstall went fine, but when I try to run the DoW uninstall it does nothing. (momentary hourglass then nothing at all)
Any ideas how I might solve this? :grrr:
Running XP.SP2 on an XP2100, if that matters.
Defrag harddrive, close any stuff you have running, try safe mode.
If all that fails then just manually delete the folder and the registry values.

Tried all but a manual deletion...any idea how I can find which reg values to get rid of?...dont wanna wreck anything (Im a bit of a reg-edit noob)
Thanks for the quick response BTW
Yeah, they are right here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\THQ\Dawn of War
Have you tried running the uninstall software thing from your control panel - add or remove software tab?

Just incase since you have winXP with SP2. You probably know how to use system restore. Before you go around editing things your uncomfortable with make sure you make a restore point just incase. Though just follow what Moe wrote and you'll be just fine.
Good luck and please do report back. :salute:

Right..I did the reg-edit...took out everything in THQ\Dawn of War..then I manually delete everything..I try to re-install and get "this installation is forbidden by system policy, contact your administrator" and since thats me....I can't realy figure out whats going on.....any ideas?
Edit: Did a system restore....the reg changes are undone....but it STILL wont uninstall normally and trying to run the setup program manually comes up with the same error message...that its forbidden by system policy. I have checked system AND group security settings and there are NO program restrictions in place on either.
VERY weird :(
It looks like you have some odd security system policy set that prevents you from tinkering with stuff. You are logged in as admin?

yup logged in as admin, and as I say I checked the system policies and there aren't any software restriction policies set so it must be another one.
If I can't sort it by the weekend I'll probably re-install windows anyway....been running this install over a year and the HD is gettin a little old as well.
