Problems with 1.04 patch and WA installation

When i try to install WA or start the updater, I get "please install Warhammer 40000" and then "installation ended prematurely because of an error".

I have tried patching DOW from within the game, no problems with 1.01 but with 1.04 i get a message about "wrong locale" at the end of the download

my DOW is a Chinese version installed using English settings.
my WA is English version from Thailand.
Both are original games bought second-hand over Ebay.

finally, is there a location from which you can download the patches (rather than patching from within the game and then having to dl again when the patch doesn't install)?

Try to install full patch(all patches in one pack)

And where have you got this game installed?
This could also be the cause... try to reinstall te game into normal directory
C:\Program Files\THQ\Dawn of War

There is a known issue with this version of the game, I will try and find out if there is any new information - keep checking back :)

but I'm getting the same problem when installing the full patch (dl'd from Havoc's link)

"Patching Error: You are attempting to patch the wrong locale of Dawn of War. Please ensure you have downloaded the correct patch for your language version. and try installing again".

The game is installed in the normal directory
C:\Program Files\THQ\Dawn of War

Thats unfortunate.

Like I said - keep checking back...theres something wrong with that particular version of the game and a new patch needs to be released to fix it.

you mean version 1.04? or Chinese version only?

a new version of 1.40 specifically for the english chinese version of the game - for some reason that version of the game can't be patched using the patch file that works for everyone else.

Arrgh. Ive got the same problem, asks me to install DoW (when installing WA) and I cant patch.
