Hey, not sure if this as already been adressed and is old news but my DoW:WA shuts down without any kind of error message appearing the moment the intro is over (the first movie you see after the relic logo and all that). DoW works just fine though, both campaign and skirmish. I can get WA to work by using my DoW cd and opening the WA from inside DoW but that screws up the campaign in WA giving me the lovely FATAL SCAR ERROR when I try to start either campaign (order or disorder). Tried clean installs of both DoW and WA 3 times now and it doesnt help at all.
Got both DoW and WA fully updated. But not sure about my videocard, updating it as I write this and will edit the note if it helps.
On a sidenote: my DoW lag got totally fixed by turning off vert sync, and the "Security module cannot be activated" message I got when first trying to start WA didnt pop up after I just closed alco 120% or whatever its called.
Would be thankful for any help
:cranky:

hijack this? what do you mean?
here's the dxdiag tho
hijackthis (http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html) is a cool little program that tells me exactly whats running on your machine.
Now, your graphics card drivers are up to date but windows isnt - try getting SP2.

i'd rather not..sp2 f*cks up every thing possible in my opinion,
here is the hijack log
SP2 doesnt fuck anything up, you should get it.
First, however, you should try killing off StarWindService.exe (unless you actually need it).

it does for me and everyone I know..
Removed starwind and the whole alco 120% program, hardly use it anyway. Didnt help tho, same problem as before
What problems did SP2 cause? If installing that caused problems then that could indicate more fundamental issues on your PC.

No no install problems..for one thing its just one giant spyware, sending information about everything you do to microsoft and because of this it slows down everything you do.

which part? slow down or send info to microsoft? but this isnt a topic on sp2 really...is there anything besides getting sp2 that I can do?
either.
And getting your system up to date is the most obvious course of action.

tried installing it on a friends cpu but got the same problem there..
very weird, I guess it could be a problem with the CDs - try getting a replacement.
