I'd explain why I like them of course, but I think if you look at what I choose you can see some recurrent themes across every unit for every race, and thus probably firgure out at least a couple reasons these units were chosen.

Notice anything these threads have in common? They are all attempts by the original poster to gather/share information and ideas. Admittedly, the first post here could have been better. Perhaps reasons why you want to know this information would have got more positive responses.

Here we go:

Tyranids: I have always been a fan of the Carnefix. The idea of a huge monstrosity capable of ripping through a tank appeals to my gribbly side.

Tau: I think my faveourites are the fire warriors simply because most of the other models don't do much for me. The Stealth suits came a close second, though.

Necrons: I don't really know much about the Necrons. I do know that I really dislike the green pieces of plastic. I think I like the wraiths best due to their sinister imagery. I think it captures the horror of the race well.

Eldar: I love the Fire dragons. I think this is because of the bright orange colour scheme the 'Eavy Metal team painted them about 10 years ago.
