Is there any way to actually play the game if you don't have 256mb of RAM? I have 192mb, but would at least like the opportunity to play this game whether it works or not....

No, you need to buy more RAM...you will find that windows will work a LOT better if you do so dont think of it as spending money just to play one game.

Incidentally, your graphics card may not be good enough to play DoW anyway - post a dxdiag please.
