The above link will explain "in a nutshell" what the securom problem is, but I will try to elaborate a little. Securom is on the WA disc to prevent piracy, BUT HAS TURNED INTO A HUGE DEBACLE EFFECTING HUNDREDS OF GAMERS FOR NO REASON!

After WA is installed, and I click the launch icon, it tells me to insert disc 1, and that the copy I have in is a back up and not the original. WELL GUESS WHAT, it is the original! According to what I have read in various articles, this problem can be caused by third party "copying programs" that are used to make illegal copies of discs.

BUT, i just reformatted my hard drive and installed windows XP, so WA and of course DOW are the only programs that I have installed (except for the windows updates and video drivers).

So why does WA not work? There is nothing I can uninstall other than WA, so what gives. Also, THQ's customer support number is cr@p, no one answers, or they are having "technical difficulties". I have tried for DAYS to talk to a live person, please help me!!!!!!!!!!!

I expect that THQ tech support are on holiday until after the new year.

If you have no software on your computer then securom is almost certainly being set off by a hardware conflict - you will have to contact their support for help (website (http://www.securom.com/)). They may also be on holiday until after the new year so be patient.
