View Full Version : Authenticating my cd post-install

Recently I had to reinstall windows due to a major boot problem.

When windows was reinstalled it seems all non-windows registries were removed. Many of my programs ceased to function properly so I had to reinstall them.

Dawn of War seemed to be fine, i could open the game, start a game etc. But I can't log online, because it gives me the error "cd was not authenticated" or something similar.

So the question is, can I validate my cd now that I have it installed and patched to 1.41 or do I have to reinstall the whole thing?

If your registry values are completely missing then you will need to create them - the file I am uploading will do that for you.

After running the file (unzip it then run it) follow the instructions in the thread and insert your own CD keys (for obvious reasons I have replaced my CD keys with "XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX"). If you dont have WA (ie you just have DoW) then ignore the WA related entries.

Also note the "DawnOfWar_ver" and "InstallLocation" entires - I am patched up to 1.41 and the game is installed to the default location, if you dont yet have patch 1.41 then you need to edit it to read "1.40" or "1.30" or etc, if you installed the game to a different folder then you need to edit it to show that as well.
