Hey everyone..
I managed to get DoW working after having errors at the very end of CD 3 by rebooting before the setup could rollback after the error, then extracting the files from Data3.cab and renaming them etc.. The only file I had a problem with was W40kData-Sound-Full.sga, which would only extract to 31% then get a CRC error.. well the game works fine (but not the full sound option obviously) but now I've gone to play online and its not letting me patch because of it!!! I'm so mad.. :madashel: :gonemad: and I think it's too late to swap the CD.. Does anyone know of a workaround or anything?? or maybe someone knows where I can get the file??? Please help! :boohoo:

Try copying the content of all three CDs to your hard drive and installing from there.

That won't work because Data3.cab isn't letting me copy it to anywhere because of the CRC error... I think i can fix this if anyone wants to give me the file.. its the only one I'm missing...

You got a faulty CD, you should have taken it back immediately for a replacement. All you can do is borrow someone elses CD3 to install.

The cd might not be faulty you might have the same problem as me

If your install just quits with no error message and deletes all the files it install other than like. the THQ bit then this MAY be the problem

Windows installer 3 has a clipping issue with the Install Shield of DoW

you can get it all out by starting the install finding the process IDriver.exe and when it says Publishing something oyu jsut end the process

the reason you cnat patch is that if the install dosent finish normaly then it doesnt create the registry data which the patch searches for to check if you have it installed

No, his CD is faulty - he tried to copy the contents of the CD to his harddrive and got a CRC error, that means one of two things: faulty CD or faulty drive. If his drive was faulty he would know about it so its a duff CD.

If you ever buy a game with a faulty disk (or any product that doesnt work properly for that matter) you should take it back immediately for a replacement. If you wait then you lose the opportunity.
