Trouble with mission 4

First i want to apologise if this is not the right forum for this post. Now to the problem i have. I am new at DOW and i am at Mission 4 where you have three whirlwinds and assault marines. I know i have to bomb the structures below with the whirlwinds but after i shoot the first missiles nothing else happens. The yellow bar at the tanks keeps loading but the don't fire any missiles. I tried to send the marines but of course they all get killed.Does anynone know what to do here?
All the walkthrough mention that i have to destroy the buildings but i can't do this! Please help.
Also i have another problem. When i try to load the game it says that the disk is a backup or something although i have the original disk. Also the same happens when i put in the Winter Assault cd.

The whirlwinds start the mission on "cease fire" stance, change their stance and they will fire freely.

Technical support probably isn't the best place to put it, but I've provided similar advice in the DoW Gamespy lobby and have seen this exact same question asked about Mission 4 here and elsewhere; would this be worth a sticky in the appropriate forum? It's cropped up often enough that a public banner with the details might serve well.

The thread on this mission (http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?t=39685) in the appropriate forum (http://forums.relicnews.com/forumdisplay.php?f=134) mentions this problem. However, the forum is so obscure that someone dropping by needing help with this problem isnt going to find it, and it doesnt come up often enough for me to be willing to clutter up DoW GD or even tech help with another sticky informing people of the solution (GD already has 7(!) stickies and tech help has 5). I'm quite happy to simply answer the question whenever its asked - it would be nice if people would use the search function to find the answer themselves but as I'm not a religious man I have to accept that that just isnt going to happen.
