Review
He came back to settle the score with someone. Anyone. EVERYONE.
Yes and that is what he is going to do. We have an unoriginal plot but an awesome action movie.
Everything starts with El Mariachi returning his old town which run by a drug baron in some desert in Mexico. But during his leave he made himself quite a legend that goes as "this huge dark guy with a guitar case that kills everyone".
The very first action scene takes place in a lousy excuse for a bar (Tarassco, translates to "Lard" iirc) which is in reality a drug disrubition center. The most memorable thing about Tarassco is that they serve urine instead of beer and filled with bad guys carrying automatic rifles. As most of the action scenes in the movie El Mariachi shoots, jumps, runs as if he is dancing. The moves are fluid, smooth and to some degree artistic... this is also the biggest flaw, the second thing, after the awesomeness of the scene, you'll think of is a ballet with guns.
The plot is simple but it is not especially bad if you know you are watching an action movie. There really isn't much to tell about it without spoiling it. Character development is well executed, there are strangely no plotholes even though you didn't watch El Mariachi. So, in simplest way El Mariachi comes to town kills some drug dealers, kills some more drug dealers then kills the drug baron and walks toward the sun set (the last part is acually a spoiler).
Last but not least; the music. The music itself is simply fantastic and perfectly suits the movie.
Desperado is your choice if you are after another action movie to add your collection and watch it once in a while when there is nothing else to do.
Good stuff: Guns, lots of guns and well scripted action, memorable characters/dialogues, overall good visuals/locations.
Bad stuff: Shallow story filled with clichés (but also created clichés), Salma Hayek (not especially bad but nowhere near her Frida acting)
