Self destructing Basilisks?

I noticed a problem with my Basilisks a few days ago when i reinstalled DOW/WA. Every now and then ( i would say 1 out of 8 times) when i set for an earthshaker strike on a target it seems the shell just blows up on my artillery right after the firing animation killing one or two basilisks and damaging the stuff around it. Its a real nusence and i was wondering how to fix this if possible.
