Do you have any other error files created around the time of the crash? Any entries in the Event Viewer?

superslaya

so you dont know the prob? :(

TBS

run memtest86 to check your RAM for errors.

superslaya:

You've not provided anything that points easily at the problem, which is why we're asking for more information.

Kinda like going into the doctor and saying "I have a pain" the doctor asks you more questions to gather more information so he can make a more precise diagnosis.

it wont let me run memtest86 says it cant find that

TBS

You have to download (http://www.memtest86.com/) memtest86 and burn it to a CD. Instructions in the link.

i am not understanding anything it is saying can you get on mirc and help me there?

TBS
25th May 06, 12:05 PM
Its fairly straightforward - first, do you have a floppy drive (and a blank floppy) or a CD writer (and a blank CD)? If you dont have either of those things then you wont be able to run memtest.

superslaya

i have a burner and blank cds

TBS

ok, so download "Download - Memtest86 v3.2 ISO image (zip) (http://www.memtest86.com/memtest86-3.2.iso.zip)" - it is a zip file containing an iso file which you use to create a bootable CD. Whatever software you use to burn CDs should be able to read an ISO file and burn the disk for you (do NOT simply burn the iso file onto a CD).

When the CD is ready leave it in the drive and reboot your machine, it will either boot to the CD or you will be asked if you want to boot to the CD (you do) - run the test and it will tell you if your memory has errors. Note that the program will run forever - when it says it has made one pass that means it has completed a test, you can leave it to do two or three passes if you like...just dont sit there waiting for it to finish. We had one guy who left it running for three days (although on the plus side at least he could be certain that his RAM was clean ;)).

we didnt ask for a hijackthis log...you appear to have a search bar installed (a nasty one rather than a google one) - adaware will probably get that for you.

However, I doubt thats the cause of your DoW problem.

what if there are no erros

TBS
25th May 06, 12:22 PM
on memtest? If its clean after one pass let it run for a second pass, if thats still clean then we know RAM isnt the problem. The next most likely cause would be overheating.

it is not a problem with my computer

i play ddo on the highest setting and dont crash

atleast not a physical problem

DoW is more sensitive to memory errors than some other games.
