Hi there.
I bought a copy of DoW Gold Edition recently, and encountered a crapload of problems.
1. When i started installing, there was an error where it couldn't read the ShapeTexture file. (i forgot the extension). So I decided to stop the process. I switched from my DVD drive to CD drive.
2. Next, when the setup screen came up, and I clicked "Install the Games". I wanted to click "Next" but the entire setup hanged.
3. I restarted my computer, switched off all unncessary antivirus and all the programs. Poff. The game started installation from WA? I was surprised but I carried on with it anyway.
4. Everything proceeds fine till I have to replace Disk 1 to start the game. My CD-drive won't open, and Disk 4 was stuck within.
5. I shouted "F**KING SHIT" and switched off my computer before switching it on again.
6. I inserted Disc 2 "WA Play disc". And the game started fine.
7. I played a skirmish to test things out. And it turns out my heretics and raptor squads and buildings are all pure pink in color. (I didn't save the screen unfortunately)
8. I was freaking frustrated, and decided to reinstall.
9. So i uninstalled, and wanted to reinstall.
10. Now my game hangs everytime I run the setup exe. It hangs at the point where I'm about to click "Next" (the screen before I even type in my CD-Key)
11. So here I am, frustrated and pissed off, having spent 3 hrs trying to install this piece of poopie crap.
Anyone has any idea why my setup.exe wont run properly?
[Edit] My CD Disc 1 is a little scratched, probably got it damaged in my f**ked up CD-drive. Could tt be the problem for the failure to install?
