ello i just would like to know if its possible to use direct control like in SHOWW2 or FOW ??
i hope so, would be a shame if this feature is missing :(

Company of Heroes will not be using a direct control type of unit command setup like Soldiers: Heroes of World War II. It will instead command squads of units for infantry.

Yeah a direct control would be awesome. :)
Then have the squad following you. But watching the wonderful AI will be awesome too ;)

I would love direct control with COH but I doubt it would happen. But I could spend hrs just as a Maching gun unit shootting the walls up if no soldiers were around, I just love those MG units! Tanks would prolly be cool to direct control too, but I imagine the artillery and such would be too hard to aim far away with unless had a PiP type screen where a designated spotter was viewing.

I mentioned Direct Control of tanks to one of the devs, and it would be difficult if not impossible due to the nature of RTS games.

It's possible for AT/AA guns, just look at warfront.

Please, god no.
Wasting effort on direct control in an RTS would be like enabling you to play Pictonary in an FPS chat.
You will never be able to use it in a fast paced game, and CoH sure aint slow, and that's why we like it that much! ;)
