Can you guys tell me how effective the age old rush tactics are in this? Reason I ask is because i would like this to be a bit more strategic than a person just getting to tier 2 and rushing the enemy. Can the other person put up a decent fight if such a thing happens? I would like to see proper attrition skirmishes and not jut 5 panzers rolling into your base after bypassing a crapload of infantry

to get panzers they need to upgrade there fort... to upgrade there fort they need resources.. to get resources you have to take map points.. to get map points you need to build infanrty and expand...
so 9/10 you will come across there men before they hit you with tanks...
saying that though... infantry if equipped correctly can take tanks down faster than other tanks....

No this game really is not a rushing game. If you try to rush me with 3 squads of infantry I'll have 1 garrisoned mg make mincemeat of them. You attack with 2 mgs I'll snipe/grenade them. You come at me with a sniper I'll bring a jeep/motarcycle and chase him down. Etc,etc this game is very strategic and no one unit will win you a game.

You can't rush in this game. You simply don't have enough resources in this game to do that early on. It's all about getting the key strategic points on a map and keeping hold of them to deny the enemy the resources.

the only kind of rush ive seen was a engineer rush.... 1MG sorts that out.....

You can't rush to tanks, because you need to control the map points needed to get the resources for tanks.
That said, you CAN get tanks or armored cars or halftracks FASTER than the other guy if you push, but that's how all games work - he who gets better stuff faster wins. The cool part is that the guy getting better stuff usually is the guy who is controlling the map, so you need to fight early to win late.
