While I was in a game I decided to use the medic tents/bays in various part of the map, not the burning question is what do they do?
I noticed the medics carrying away the injured, but then they never come back out?
Do they get added back to the manpower pools?
you have to wait 6 months until the soldiers are fully healed :chicken:

After the red status bar fills out, you get a squad of infantry (for free).

Medic Tents give you a new squad of rifleman or grenadiers once the medics have carried four (or six?) soldiers back to the tent.

And in the case of the grenadiers, it's really really worth it.

Well its 6 for the allies Im positive. Honestly I dont like them much. Sure it gives you a free squad but your medics can die, and I dont think they get respawned. Plus it doenst heal anyone in the vicinity. Much better just build a triage center and heal units in the back of the lines. :tread:
Thats there cause i like it.

They dont seem to shoot medics though.
Ive seen an enemy medic walk right up to my own units to pick up a comrade and carry him off.
Wouldent know if they respawn though.

You can tell your troops to attack medics by right clicking on them.

I'm pretty sure they respawn, just like the engineers from the axis repair bunkers respawn.

Yeah troops don't shoot medics.
And when I tell'em to attack medics, they never hit...:loco:

oh, helpful hint, the triage center has a healing aura, make sure you place it right near where your retreated squads rally to at your main building.

we should be able to assign a retreat area... like foward barracks for instance... what is the point of running the whole map, when you have a forward base set up in the middle of it?

I was often :steam: because I hit the retreat button because it looks like a "hold position" or "stand ground" symbol and my troops run away. There should be a cancel option too. You can't move your squad, they move back to your HQ on the other end of the map :bricks:

IMO the absence of a "cancel retreat" button is the way of balancing out the retreat function because your troops are very hard to hit when bolting back to your HQ. The fact that they run back to your HQ and not a Forward Command Post is probably also balance issue, so people can't just retreat their squads to a nearby FCP, heal/reinforce and send them back to the front rapidly. Would be annoying to play against an enemy who when you rout their squads return with the same guys in a few short minutes...bit unrealistic.

RaNd0m nailed it. The retreat function will always send troops back to your main base. Their internal testing revealed that people would "Reatreat" troops forward thus defeating the purpose of the feature.

The reason why you can't retreat to your forward barracks and why you can't cancel a retreating order are because that would lead to lots of really annoying strategies.
I have to admit I feel pretty darn bad ordering my troops to shoot medics and their wounded. Argh.

Just pretend they're cruel and abusive medics, that'll make things easier. :p

So the front line tent is for automatically spawned medics that carry wounded troops back, get 6 and a squads pops out.
The one you build near the hq (triage?) just heals units when you right click on it and thell them to go there, right? :)

Triage Center has a healing radius. Just move units up to it to heal basically.

Haha fair enough, call in off screen artillery on them and blame it on the boys in the artillery...just for fun! (not as if your going to be tried for war crimes :D)
