I pre-ordered my collector's edition about two weeks ago from Gamestop locally here in St Louis (along with a couple other titles, all of which come out within two weeks of CoH). It has good content from what I've heard is in it so I'm glad I ordered it.

The CE is DVD only, but there is a regular DVD version as well as a CD version of the game.

But we also miss out on the collectors edition as well. Sigh. Relic really knows how to build on its support base. Will this be the straw that breaks the camels back! Tranj, is there any way we'd be able to talk to the people who made the CE decision? I'd be willing to gauge interest in the CE in non-US areas via a front page poll or mailbag feature on PCoH if it'd help. As a Canadian it's really annoying having to buy the CE from the US, because it means extra costs, shipping fees, border taxes, and longer wait times until I can actually play CoH :(

This is not a Relic decision, but a THQ international decision. I don't know what the motivation behind it is, but I'll try and find out.

Thanks for clearing the misconception up for me Tranj, sorry for pointing the bone in the wrong direction. I know that myself and lot of other Relic fans all over the world would be very very grateful if you could at least find out why THQ International has made this decision. Would pre-ordering the collector edition help, so THQ at least has some idea of the numbers outside of the US who would be more than happy to pay the extra to get the collectors edition? While pressing of the official version won't be that far off, is it going to be that much of a hassel for THQ to even do a nomial amount of CE's for overseas release? If only to meet the pre-order demand.

US citizens cant even order the game from ebgames.com if the billing address is local, but the shipping address is an international one. That being said the shipping costs are not that bad.

Germany for instance is only 19.99 and will take 3-5 business days.

It says that there will not be any Nazi insignia or propaganda included which is right for most part of the US version, too. I'm not quite sure what they mean by that... Have Nazi insignia been cut out in the German or not?

It seems there will be no Nazi symbols in the US version to begin with, which in turn means they don't have to cut the game for the German market.

But take that as a rumour for now, I don't know how well informed the German department of THQ is.

Yes i read that it will not be "extra cut" for germany. Man they say that way too often and then the game comes out here in GER and then they cut it anyways. I wait till i see that. I think they just maybe adjust some speech ( Sniper ) and give the "blitzkrieg" assault another icon. Thats all i see for now. ( accordingly to he laws in germany ) On the other hand they tend to censor games with ragdoll for whatever reason. We will see...

and PLEASE give the german soliders ONLY german taunts. It hurts me allways i click on a Stormtrooper squad and they speak such a accent no german whould ever use. They sound dumb.

Im pretty sure.

The speech of the US Units is just brilliant, every little saying is great, because this what US Soldiers actually said back in 1944.
And then you got the germans.
At first this Mix of german and English is annoying. Why not let the Commander (the one who gives you capture/attack/etc. Messages) speek English, and the troops normal german. Look at Sudden Strike, there is russian, japanese, italian and so on. Its just better for the Atmosphere.
Their content of some sayings is just weird. I know that americans love to show Wehrmacht Soldiers as little stupid but effective fighting Machines.
And why the Storm Troopers got this silly saxony dialect. For germans this sound just funny or stupid.
And then the Names of some structures, Kampfkraft-Centre (Combat-Capability-centre) or Sturm-Armory (Storm-Amory). Its all so plateful.

I dont understand why Relic did this? Why they dont gave them speeches like real german soldiers from 1944?
At least its very irreverently opposite the germans. My Grandfather fought in Stalingrad, got wounded and was sent back to the Eastern front in 1944 and got wounded. Luckily he survived both wounds (the first was an headshot from a transverse racquet).
Now if im playing such games like this or Call of Duty im just a little angry how Guys like my Grandpa are represented in this games.

So even a bad german Syncro would it do better for me than this original sh...

And pls dont get me wrong, im not right-winged, i just want to get a right picture of the commion german soldier, because you are not playing an SS-Division. You are playin a normal late War Wehrmacht-Division.

hey guys, I found the collectors edition in australia.

dvdcrave will have it (google them as i can post a link). generally they ship gear a day or two in advance of release if you preorder, so that you actually recieve the game on release day or, if youre lucky, before.

I use them alot and have never had a problem, so I reccommend them.

Well per Futureshop in Canada the cd version is 39.99, the dvd version is 49.99 and the CE is 59.99. the CD and the DVD is supposed to be available on the 11th. Not sure when the CE supposed to be available. So I have my fingers crossed that the DVD or the CE is available tomorrow.
