View Full Version : Setting Up NOD32 properly

I've been having so much trouble getting into games and then when I do they have been lagging out etc. Now, just recently I decided to delve deaper into NOD32 to see if there was anything in there messing things up for me. It works fine for all other games I have and is probably the best anti virus program I've ever used, so I wasn't hoping for much luck.

However by changing a couple of things I have now managed to get in a few games, 2 crashed out mid game, while the other 2 worked perfectly.

Here's what I did:

In the IMON setup, under the Miscellanious tab, I pushed the edit button within the Exclusion box/zone.

I then Added the relicCOH.exe to the exclusion list. Accepted all the changes and started playing.

Thats it, nothing more to it. It mostly fixed an issue with peoples names not showing up, and joining games is ALOT faster now. I still have the connection issue box popup now and again, and can't get in some games (which are likely to be full), but on the whole it works almost well now!

(ignore any spelling errors, I've never cared for all that stuff :P if the message gets across then the language has worked)

Thanks Phonic, I downloaded the demo version to try it out, but haven't had a chance to get into any games.

[edit] Here's the area for setting exclusions.

Thanks Phonic, I've added this information to the readme, it should make the final version of the game.

Well, might I add something? I also added reliccoh.exe to the exclusions list on AMON. You go to AMON, then setup, then exclusions and added reliccoh.exe.

I also did what the guy above said but I still couldn't play very long. With reliccoh.exe added to both AMON and IMON exclusions list. I was able to play a full game.
DOn't know if it will help anyone else but I think this helped me to play a little longer.

Amon = system virus scanner
Imon = internet system virus scanner

I'd imagine what Liquidice07 said is the best option, add reliccoh.exe to both sections. NOD32 is an excellent AV program. Very happy with it.

You can either do what is mentioned above or you can completely stop IMON from running...

Kinda redundant, but whatever works.

Thanks a million billion for this thread guys! I finally got to play a multiplayer game a little while ago! Woot! :) I like NOD32 as well, never required any adjustments for any other game, but still good to know.

It was a messy 8 player game full of people dropping or getting kicked, and I sort of stuck it out to the bloody end even when the Allies were blasting me to the stone age. The opponent seemed like a very fast moving veteran and I didn't have a prayer, he was telling me to just give up towards the end. If we'd just done a little mining around our bases, it might've been interesting. It was fun though, and I felt like I had to stay to the bloody end, at the very least to see if my connection stayed up (it did).

Further to the original post, I contacted nod32 with an un-related problem and they told me that I should disable "IMON" completely as "AMON" covers the same files anyway. They also said that in the next version "IMON" is being removed completely.

Therefore the exclusions should be made to IMON (if not disabled) and also AMON.

I'm sure it's appreciated, but please don't drag up old threads like that.
