Ive seen a few threads saying that the Airborn tree has trouble with offensive AT later on in the game. A few people have suggested giving the Bazooka as an upgrade to the Airborn troops.
I think that an alternate plan could be to make the Supply Drop drop a bazooka that could then be picked up by which ever troops you want. This could give some end game (Supply drop is a tier three ability) AT abilities to the Airborn tree as well as keep Airborn troops viable later in the game.
What do you guys think?
Too overpowered? Not enough?

No offensive AT?
You have AT Gun drops, costs 310 MP and drops anywhere and recharges in about 40 seconds.
Airborne already have recolise rifles, they have no need for Bazooka's.
Couple that with the already free supply drop that gives you 100 Munitions and 50 Fuel that you can stock pile and use for bombing runs.
I'd say Allied Airborne has plenty of AT options, you just have to use what you have. There is no "I Win" button.

I simply don't understand what peoples problems with airborne AT is. You get the AT guns without paying for the motor pool, what more do you want?
And there is no such thing as non-offensive AT. If you're bringing the AT guns to the front, then shift your infantry forward, then bring the AT guns up and keep doing that you force the enemy to either retreat his tanks or to face your guns. And you'll force him to do it on *your* terms, since you are on the offensive.
And while you're doing that, you haven't even touched your bombing and strafing runs.
There is nothing lacking in airborne AT support.

i hate when i drop my lovely at guns then get arted as soon as they drop :( most anoying.
if you want bazokas then give airbone "jeep drop" sinse jeeps were the most important things for airbone, also they used to tow the AT guns on back of these jeeps, i think jeep drop would be much better and give the AT-guns a bit move moverment. airbone is al about speed.

If people wouldn't even agree to give the airborne a bazooka upgrade, I doubt they will even agree to let air drop give free bazooka

Airborne already are AT. If anything the AI weapons need to be better.

i found out last night thats not a viable option late game vs groups of tanks..
now they will always keep flakpanzers with there main squad... 2+ of these take down a bombing run plane before it even lets 1 bomb fly....
also theres no guarantee that its going to come from whichever direction you start the run from... as mine was coming from the opposite side (right to left when i was placing left to right) as much as it was the correct way.... your only hope is that the plane then crashes into the tanks destroying a few of them....

Personally I think a single zook and a few BARs with the supply drop wouldn't hurt, but that's just me :p

Crashing planes don't do damage, afaik.
Have you sneaked a sniper into a base and then dropped AT after AT in there?
Send in 3 AT and you put the axis back along way in production. Yes its a suicide mission but the damage is worth it. But then again this is thinking outside the square of mass, click and point.
I think as for the drops, which give fuel and munitions maybe the odd BAR would not go astray.

it wouldnt really work
most german players i have played have kept a few units back at there main base to prevent things such as this happening...
besides he only has to return a few men to deal with the problem while sending the rest to attack your main base...
you have just wasted 960 mp which could have been spent in a more reasonable way... which obviously means you have been saving instead of building...
besides this wouldnt work due to the cool down timer on the AT guns... you would get 1 in there which would be picked appart before doing any real damage and anyone with even half a brain would then keep at least 1 flak panzer back at base as a reserve.. as well as having a few bikes patrolling for your sniper...

the topic creator was talking about airborne tree's capbility to destory a tank offensively, not about using the 57mm offensively

Airborn also gets a bombing run. It's very capable of dealing with tanks offensively.

As airborne I never really seemed to have enough munitions to do a bombing run for some reason. Can't understand why though because as axis I pretty frequently have enough munitions to use abilities.

it either hit or miss, not to mention axis can kill the plane using flakpanzer and 88.
it's a bit miss for 250 considering the two point

Bombing runs hit hard, but are far too...finicky for my liking. You can line one up perfectly to hit as many German tanks and supporting infantry as you like, but you may very well get a drunkard for a pilot who comes in at the wrong angle and completely misses or doesn't even bother to drop his bombs at all. I'm really hoping that those are just bugs that won't present themselves at retail, rather than "features" of the ability.
