Severe lag with >2 players

Whenever I join a 2v2 game, I get like 1 fps due to lag. All the other players claim they get the 'lag grace' message regarding me.
I usually get the message regarding everyone else, as well.

Whenever I host or play a ranked 1v1 game, I'm fine. Is there a reason 2v2 games don't work when 1v1 games do?

I have joined 1v1 games before, so I'm capable of joining games. It really seems the amount of players is the problem.

Are you running NOD32 or similar anti-virus by any chance?
