hi thanks for your interest by just reading this!
im quite familiar with the orks, and what they do, etc. but what im not good at, is strategy! i havnt a clue! none of my boys seem to work together! so i decided to start again with a 1000 pt army then work my way to a 1500 pt army!
the armys i play more than any other is the necerons(my wifes army) and the tyrinyds( my sisters army) but i usauly get slaughtered! i no its all a bit of fun! but i never win! :-)

so here is my first atempt at the new list!

HQ-Warboss
power claw, big horns, bosspole, mega armour, mega boosta, stikkbomb chuka

all with frag, krak and tankbusta bombz, 1x rokkit launcha

Way too much gear man way too much gear

Firstly I am assuming you want to go foot sloggers right?
You want bodies and more bodies

Basically at 1000 points you want a boss with choppa slugga

Maxed out slugga squads with 2-3 hvy wps w// PK nobs
a grot mob

and some AT normally TL Rokkit trakks

thats it man

Dropkick is right, Keep it simple.

As it is your boyz are loaded down with so much wargear they might as well be VPs-on-a-stick.

Sandwich beat me to it. Check out the link he posted. It is a great example of a straightforward footsloggers list, with the added twist of Trukk Boyz.

I'm not going to bother checking out your 500 list. As long as you get the basic idea of how an Ork footslogger list should look like, your good.

The only things your nobs need are power klaws and Iron gobs/ horns. THe rest of the squad is basically the delivery system for the power klaw. Orks die, and nobs will die just as fast. So if you load up all that gear on them, it'll be wasted.
And stik-bommas are just a waste in general.

Actually, I don't really consider my list a 'true' footsloggers list, since it relies heavily on trukks to tie up the enemy, rather than the sheer bulk of troops and grots that normal footsloggers would have :P.

My list isn't very balanced, either (at least, I don't consider it so) because it's very focused and besides my Warboss, I only use 2 types of units- Sluggas and Trukk Boyz :P. I think 'balanced' lists with elites, troops, fast attack, and Heavy support only work in 2k games. I recall reading MurphyOrk and MooFreaky saying that the smaller the game, the more focused your list must be if you hope to succeed.

You don't have to follow my list- just as long as you pick an idea that works and get rid of anything unnecessary. For example, if I wanted a footsloggers list with say...large mobs of boyz with a Grot shield, and a looted Leman Russ or Basilisk (I remember reading that looted vehicles are best in footslogging armies), putting in a lone Trukk isn't going to do much good.

Wish I could say more, but I'm still learning, myself :).

i have done a second list useing the advise given above so here it is!

Slaver (grabba stick, choppa)

Trukk Boys x9 (1x Burna)
Nob (slugga, Power Klaw)

Grand Total - 1000
Model Count - 94

i no i only got one trukk, (i have read that one is useless), but have i got enough troops to compensate for the one?
the basic plan is to send the trukkers stright in if possible, to tie up an expensive enemy unit. i will the put the trukk in the most inconvenience place i can!(for the enemy i mean) while the rest slogg towards the enemy lines. Mean while the boss will be with one of the slugga units!

or should i drop the grots and a few sluggas to get a second trukk boy unit and put the warboss with them?

i must say i do think this is an improvement of the first list, but i think i still need a bit of advice!

from Oil Sucker's suggestion, how about i remove the grot squad and replace it with the following:-

Heavy Support
Killer Kans x2 (2x Big Shoota)
Total - 90

*also remove 1 slugga boy from "Troop 1" in order to make the Grand Total 999 pts

Okay better but could be a lot better

your boss, either give him a regular choppa and a slugga (best it think) or a choppa PK combo.

Your slugga squads all I see its they are too big I say 3 squads of 15 with a PKed nob is great

get a 15 grot squad give that slaver a pk

lose the trukk boys they're lowering your model count,
instead as you need anti tank
get a couple TL rokkit buggies and put them in seperate squads

I like that much better, maybe use some of the leftover points to give one nob a bosspole besides that I think your good man

ok ill comment on the 3rd list as that seems to be the most recent, id go for 2 burna squads and 1 big shoota squads, orks are about CC, also they ae the perfect weapon against both nids and necrons. Nids will let you fry 1000 of them if you get to fire and the necrons dont get WBB roles from the burnas. With those remaining 55 points you need to buy some grotz to shield your boys else they will be cut down in transit to the enemy

I just set it up on the table! it looks cool! green everywhere! :-) (well 8 spare bases representing a few!)
Well i got a war tonight so i'll take them for a test drive! i shall post the results here weather i win (hopefully) or lose! then i can look at any weakness there might be!

well i must say that if i win its down to you guys that helped, so thank you very much! if i dont win then thanks anyway couse with my original list i probably get tanked! :-)

Wait! Your slugga boyz mobs with the burnas should only cost 231 by my calculations and your mob with the big shootas should cost 240.

Someone more experienced help me- are my calculations correct? With all those extra points, you could be adding more grots! :)

P.S. Your Slaver needs a squighound!

hello! well my necron enemy did not show up on the battle field!! must of phased out prematurely! haha!
i did play chaos space marines in a standard recon mission! i used the list above! and he used the following:-

i no its less than 1000pts but he didnt point it before we played! either way the orks came out triumphant! the orks had 600 vp and the chaos sp had 400 vp i had two complete units in enemy lines and two under 50% of original strengh! the chaos scrum (hehe) had his HQ and Oblitorator over my lines!

I then played against a tyrinid invasion! in a standard recure mission! the orks was butchered by the hermagaunts! but the orks retrieved the special item! i found it first with a buggy and ran away with it! haha! i cant remember the army list the tyranids used but it was a 1000 pt army!

in hind sight i think the list i used was very impressive but i played the wrong way against the nids! so thank you very much everyone for your help and imput into my ork list!
