A thread I made double posted, however it doesn't let me delete it as I could before.

Just curious, why did ya'll take that feature away? :)

Probably to prevent the OP from having too much control over what's being said. Say we got a good debate going for example and you resort to just deleting the whole thread. Bad times for all.

If you do accidentally double post a thread, you can PM a mod or admin telling them, or change the title to 'double post, please delete' and leave the post empty to avoid people posting replies in both threads.

Yea I did that, shame they can't let us delete our own threads for say the first 5-10 minutes though =p.

I believe you can only delete your own thread if there are no replies to it.

That would be useful if people didn't have a tendency to spam your thread with "OMG DUP MOD CLOZE PLZ" over and over.

That's what moderators are for. The reasons for not allowing users to affect other users' posts are outlined here (http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?t=109329).

I thought it was along those lines too Ceejay, but I could not delete my duplicate thread, and there were no replies in it. Perhaps this should be looked into?

Btw, no one has deleted my thread yet it can be seen here:
http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?t=109597

I am still unable to delete it myself.

I suppose you can't, then. Not really a major issue - just report the thread and one of us will get to it. We'd prefer to have a tiny extra bit of work (something like 2-5 threads a day) than disappearing threads.

That's odd, I seem to recall being able to delete my own threads prior to being a mod if there were no replies to them.

I can delete my own posts... infact i just deleted one, and someone had allready replyed to it.

Posts, yes, Shuma. THREADS are an entirely different thing, though. By deleting a post, you're only killing your own comment, but deleting a thread will kill everyone's contribution to it.

I'd like to ask that seniors be able to see thier own deleted posts, or even everybody's deleted posts. It can be really confuzzling to see a person talking to themselves in a thread. Or even just the ability to see that a post was deleted. I recall from my month or so that this was a really nice thing to be able to see....

Then we'd all start playing deleted comment wars again. :p

Roffle. I forget about that. Maybe we should just behave this time eh?

Meh. I don't think it's really necessary to see a note for deleted comments. I've gotten by just fine, so far.
