Personally, I think the game is balanced very well, in fact there isn't anything I think should be changed (I take that back, the panther needs its heavy crushing back) but other than that, really there is a good counter to everything if you play right. The thing that worries me though, if relic begins making gameplay changes it could get really messed up, like bf2. BF2 was (IMO) pretty balanced when it was launched, but EA made so many changes (and several changes on those) that it some places it is unbalanced. I would rather CoH not end up like bf2....

In my opinion Company of Heroes (as is) is an outstanding game. What about you guys?

Are you crazy? I say just three words ... "Black Hawk Ownage"

CoH is pretty balanced for it being out since some weeks, but it has still a long way to go until the balance is perfect. If you think it is fine as it is now, think again and try using rangers, crocodiles, Panzer IVs, Officers, 88s and all the other stuff that no-one is using because it is just too bad.

Fairly balanced, but like DoW, some units need a buff otherwise they will never see use.

I don't use rangers, but I do use crocs and panzers from time to time. I use the officer all the time.

Oh and regarding black hawks, now their only purpose is to gather dust. If anyone gets in them, it is just one dude (usually spec ops to go blow assets up at the enemies base).

EDIT: Forgot to add 88's. Now that you mention them, they are to weak, a sherman can kill one with no problem...THAT could use some buffing.

Luckily we're dealing with relic instead of EA.

Well while the game is mostly balanced there is some issues (IE Sherman super smoke, off map support units)

it is overall balanced, but just tweaks here and there, nothing i would call a nerf..

Sometimes balance is in the eye of the beholder. Although some tweaking is probably in order I haven't decided where. Just haven't played enough yet.

As mentioned, the balancing of units is a double edged sword. It can ruin a game. I guess what we are all looking for is a fun game. Besides being a BF2 freak, I played Novalogic's Joint Operations for quite a while. I feel that Nova totally ruined the game with some of their balancing tweaks. For instance, before tweaking you could kill an opponent with an RPG... but you pretty much only got one shot due to long reload times, so it was fair, in my opinion(you miss, you die). After tweaking, at point blank range you couldn't kill an opponent with an RPG. Many other weapons had their accuracy reduced. It just wasn't fun playing a shooter where you can't hit the broad side of a barn!

i believe the game has unbalances, but its only because of the realism of it. relic wanted a realistic rts...axis was superior than the allies.

People need to stop complaining and start using strategic tactics...it is an rts u know...

While it's refreshing to see a thread that isn't based on wild anger, there's not much discussion that can come of it. People will either agree or disagree, and their reasons for doing so will be so disparate as to create many threads within a thread.

Locking for these reasons. Hopefully Relic will fix the bugs (Sherman energy shield, etc) and leave the balance intact, but we'll have to see.
