View Full Version : Search before you post a new thread fails

I posted a "Google buys Youtube" GD topic.
I searched for Google and Youtube, but could find no related topic in GD before mine.

After locating the previous "Google: world domination" thread that deals with this, I noticed that relevant keywords "google" and "youtube" are formatted as a link. Is the search unable to find those words if inside link?

I have screenshots of my search, just in case.

I got over 100 results for google and 34 results for youtube in GD. Maybe you were searching the wrong forum?

Yes, but no one related to the Google:World Domination thread.

And certainly nothing but mine, posted today (10/10)
and I used the little search link You have next to the topic input.

Ah, I see what you mean. You were foiled by bad grammar, I'm afraid. That search mod looks for spaces in between words, which the thread author failed to do.

The topic should have read "Google: One step closer to world domination", but they wrote it as:

"Google:One step closer to world domination", so the search mod indexed "google:one" all as one word.

Ok.
Thanks, reki.

I edited the title of the thread in question to add a space after the colon. As reki said, foiled by bad grammar...
