importmadness reliability?

Hey, i'm thinking of importing dark crusade but the only import site i've found with it is importmadness.com.

Anyone have any experiance with it and can you tell me whether it is a reliable site?

I've ordered from there; everything seems to be run professionally. You are required to sign up before ordering, their card details entry page is secure, and they will email you when the game is on it's way...I havn't received an email yet saying its shipped, but I should get it in 5-7 days. (There are 2 delivery options, FedEx Express or Standard Airmail).

No problems so far, although I havn't used them before.

Well My friend has ordered a game form there and he found it ok and he has ordered DC form there.
I know alot of people who have ordered form there on these forums but have yet to get a n email saying the game has shipped.
So Right now we are not sure when my friend ordered it he thought it would be sent on monday and it would be with him on wednesday-Friday but we will see

have used them twice so far both times games were never delivered and my bank account still has yet to see head or hide of a refund.

First time game was delivered and signed for by someone, not me or anyone in my house or street.. they claimed delivered fine no problems no refund.

Being forgiving I game em a second chance this time it never even turned up and by the time it had shipped 2 weeks after us release had passed and it was available in Uk..

I have heard mixed reports about them being great but from my experience they are thieves and still owe me money for 2 games :(

I had a very bad experiance with importmadness. They sent the game but it arrived on the uk release date and not only that they refused to respond to a single e-mail I sent them. Not only that but one of them was one to cancell the order well within the time they asked for. SOmeone else on these forums had a similar experiance iirc and I would reccoment steering well clear. It wasn't merely the lateless of their delievery but they did not respond to any communication whatsoever I was basically scammed into paying extra for a copy on the same day it was out in UK.

This really IS Import Madness

I pre ordered with them lastweek and received no email as of yet besides a order status update saying my card had been validated with them, at the same time the cash was out my account. Since then I sent 3-4 emails asking whats going on with the order to no reply.
Sadly I ran a google search into them after I placed my order and they have a real bad record of screwing up on customs labelling, not deliverying stuff on time and not answering any form of communication whatsoever.

The biggest problem is worldpay which some of you might have used to pay will not do anything about it as they are only a money dealing company, in a case about IM I read about worldpay said it all to do with the customer and the store they have bought from and they can do nothing about it.

On other notes, people who have had issues have been able to force a refund with IM using legal methods of trading standards, credit card company fraud policies and so on.

I am going to ring in half a hour when there phone service is surposely open and I'll see what I can get out of that, but I do have this sinking ship feeling with them and I fear I am going to have to battle with this. Its companies like this which really ruin it for the rest of the legit companies out there.

I have just spoke to someone on import madness's end in London and he has informed me that the order has just been shipped 30mins ago and I should recieve a email from Fed Ex tomorrow or later in the afternoon. Also recieved a email notification that my order status has changed to.

I'd advise giving a ring if your in the UK.

02079 932426 - on the website it is only listed without the 0, add the 0 and the number doesn't become dead. Quote your order number and the bloke on the phone will check it for you and give you the information.

what the hell?! No wonder you guys are having so much trouble with these guys seeing as it is a company based in Canada with a UK hotline and their phone lines operate on Eastern Standard Time.

I was wondering why everyone in the UK was saying that they requested for FedEx delivery when RoyalMail would have sufficed.....all is clear now.

in any case, just go to the main website and click on "Contact". They have listed the phone number in its full international format but they forget to mention that you have to add 00 before the 44 in order for the phone number to be valid ie.:-

Listed on website as: (44) 2079932426.................INVALID (0044) 2079932426...............VALID

For those people in the UK, simply dial the number as shown here: 0207 79932426

I find it incomprehensible that all you UK guys couldn't figure out that you simply had to add a 0 to the 207 (leaving out the 0044) prefix in order to make the phone number valid. It aint quantum physics, you know!

Hello_Moto: I already listed the phone number on page 2 with the correct area code, before slagging off half the people in this thread, might be advisable to actually read all posts beforehand.

Credit Check: It took maybe 4-5hours from them to do a credit check on my debit card. On the email you recieve it gives explaination that a credit check can take longer on a credit card than debit cards. This delays the order being processed unfortunately.

I am well aware of your post on the second page and forgive my condescending tone but i felt that i needed to reiterate the fact as to how to dial UK phone numbers properly in a clearer format and also state that the UK hotline may very well operate on Eastern Standard Time hence all the difficulty in trying to get in contact with the company.

I understand that, but your post did come across as alittle hostile. I be surprised no one noticed Import Madness are a Canadian company though. On there contact section where you go to send emails to them they list there address for canada and also have above there phone numbers that phone answering is only available in EST from 12-6pm.

On the note of shipping, those who ordered lastweek have recieved a shipping note today from IM. I got mine as I phoned them at 5pm UK time which is 12pm EST for canada. The person on the phone said the order had been shipped and there would be a Fed Ex email tomorrow afternoon.I will be ringing them again tomorrow incase such email doesn't turn up as I need to arrange someone to be in at the time Fed Ex delivers.

Maybe in the UK. Personally, I'm in Norway and even including shipping, the game is not only a forthnight or so faster with Importmadness, but also a few kroner cheaper than any preorder I could find from Norway. I've also already got my confirmation email and should hopefully have the game in hand by next week. Importmadness seem ok, though I can attest to them being hard to reach. I sent them three emails trying to cancel my preorder, two of which returned undeliverable and the third of which was obviously ignored. Good thing in the end, I guess, since I changed my mind in the meantime.

THQ is German.
The W40K universe is British.
The US represents a mere 20-25% of DC's consumer base, whereas Europe contains the majority of DC's consumer base.
The excuse that customers in the US get DC before anyone else (including parts of Canada) because the US is close to Canada not a satisfactory one.
The UK and European release date of 27th October is a near-suicidal move by THQ with regards to the company's credibility.

I have to admit that i would have been happier knowing the issues people were having with importmadness before I logged an order with them yesterday.
But (and I don’t know how things are going to turn out eventually), I've just received my dispatch notification from them.

So... that’s almost 24 hours on the dot.

The ‘trepid’ happy dance may be in order.

I don’t know all of the issues or how other people are paying but I suspect that a credit card check of some kind may be responsible for the dispatch delays since I’m sitting happy a short day later when I paid by switch.
It might be interesting to run a small poll and see if we can come to some kind of understanding over the situation.

They’re currently saying 5 – 7 business days for the delivery… yes, yes, I ordered the cheapo delivery, so I’ll log back in a while and let you know how things turn out.

I ordered another copy of DC from ebgames (as I had doubts about IM). I didn't regret it. I ordered DC from ebgames on tuesday night and it arrived this morning (friday morning), so I'm well chuffed and have just finished a 6-hour campaign spree as IG, and I'm around half-way through the campaign on easy.

What I found funny was that ebgames sell DC internationally for around the same price as the UK would, including shipping. Just... wow, no problems at all, you don't have to sign up to membership or anything, completly hassle-free and QUICK! If anyone in the UK or Europe wants DC NOW (within 3-5 working days (3 for me)) for roughly a few pittance extra, order the game from them.

talos good luck with getting it mate, if its been detained in customs you can almost gurantee a customs charge..

usually you are allowed value of £35.00 before charges happen, but if IM have wrongly priced it or marked it as trade item you may get charged a % on top of it.

Hopefully though it was something else that delayed it rather than this, customs charges suck big time..

Then it sat there to 5:41am and then travelled to Stansted UK arriving at 4pm and there it awaits sorting and redistribution. Not bad for a day of travel :p. Plus need to consider that once it hit UK it would have sat to staff members came in at 9am. So overall, quite a fast turn around.

Anything over £20 is subject to custom charges however they only check every 1 in 10 parcels coming into the UK for that stuff so you have a good chance of getting that passed.

well that depends on what your tracking says.. if you have a location then it should be fine.

I used to work for parcelforce for 3 years and basically it is almost impossible to get a parcel from a - b without it being scanned at least 6 times. Dispatch from seller, arrival in courier, leaving for uk, arrival in uk, sending to either sender or main courrier office then to signature or sending out for delivery.

If it doesnt show tracking you may have a problem

Ok guys, after a few phone calls, I got their customer support dude (I think they only got one guy hired, because I always get the same guy:argue: ), he said that the reason we did not get them today, is because the cargo plane got grounded with the 'alert' in NYC when that plane crashed. So he said it should arrive tomorrow or wednessday at the latest.

He also said that we will be sent our updated fedix mails in about 5-6 hours.

I gave them a call on the snail mail front. Apparently mine was shipped on Wednesday last week, so it should've come today at the earliest (nope) or friday at the latest. While on the phone, I also asked him why Americans were answering a London phone number, to which he replied 'the site also lists a Canadian address, right?' and I said yes, and he said that it was simply a phone service they set up for their UK customers and they were not trying to mis-advertise as it lists their location on their site.

Hi Guys,

My saga with Import Minge is nearly at an end and i want to share it with you guys and point out why i would never, and advise no one else to ever, use that company again to get games.

I ordered this on the 9th by credit card and although i confirmed with my credit card company that the money was guareented that night, nothing showed on the order status for like another day or two until i called them to do something about it. So of course then they took action and changed everything to confirmed, shipped and whatever (btw, i forked out for the FAST delivery)

ok, so, that was last Tuesday the 10th or so and by Friday 13th i still had no confirmation no. or whatever from Fed ex. When i called Import Minge again to find out why, i was told that there was a delay due to the airports being shut down (wasnt in the news btw) so my package was stuck in NJ for the moment and i would get the confirmation no. soon.

As of Monday i still hadnt recieved a thing so i called again, for the third time. They said sorry and whatever and promised me the number in an hour. A day later i get the number and finaly the package seems to be on the way and i guess should be here by 2moro or friday, nearly a full 2 weeks after placing the order and forking out WAY over the odds for FAST shipping.

What annoys me most is not the fact that i only get the game one week sooner then Euro release anyway, its that i was lied to by Import minge. They blamed a State of emergancy for grounding the Fed ex fleet at NJ yet my tracking number for my delivery clearly states the that package was only picked up from Canada on the 17th!! just yesterday, and it has taken less then a day or so to make it to the UK from there.

So basicaly Fed Ex are doing a bang up job at their end but it looks like those clowns at import minge just didnt post the game till yesterday.

Disgracefully unprofessional and unrelieable service and i would not recommend it to anyone...... A long reply but had to get it off my chest, im a really pissed of customer right now.

Ok, just now I tried Phoning them, Well, my parents did, And they INSISTED that the number on the site was Correct, and that the phone lines closed at 5:30.

They also Ignored the Correct number that I wrote down and Gave to them >:(

ah ffs the phone number gives me some car company. wtf. they managed to ignore 3 emails, 2 to the cancellation address and 1 with full info to the order address.

This is bullshit. not only have they charged me a fucking fortune, I've paid for fedex prioity mail and I bet it wont come to me like everyone else.

Luckly i have a backup plan, incase this happened. thank god for best friends.

How ironic that i somehow feel special that Import Minge actualy managed to get the game out in a mere 2 weeks, after paying for 'fast shipping', when some of you STILL dont have it.

I would say unbelieveable, but Import Minge has redefined my understanding of the word 'incompetance' and brought it to new levels other screw ups can only hope to reach.

I would write them a mail advising them of how useless they are but chances are they will never read it, much like cancelation mails or order enquiries or other medicore stuff like that which they cant be bothered dealing with.

Please folks, don't support this company, NEVER order from them as you probably wont get a copy at all or if you do, it will be like on the same day as its released in your own country.......

I made an even bigger cock up! I ordered from Import Madness but then after reading this thread i cancelled my order and ordered a copy from a store in guernsey (an ebay store), then i found out this wasnt sending orders out till it was released on the third of November, so i cancelled that order and ordered from another EBAY store, a place in Canada (ECGames). Thing is, now i just got an email telling me my Import Madness order has already shipped (it shipped yesterday) my EC Games one has already shipped and I have had no response from the Guernsey based unit, meaning that by the 3rd of november I could have 3 copies of the game!!

I suppose if (big if i know) my Import madness order shows up first i might sell my EC Games copy, for the princley sum of £15GBP, so should any desperate DoW fan from the UK on here wish to buy it i guess I could sell it, or stick it on E-Bay but i figured ad give you guys first dibs on it. Course if I get 3 al have to stick the third copy on e bay cos it will already be out over here by then.

Anyways just thought ad let you all know.
