Hello everybody. I joined these forums to get the latest updates on Homeworld 2. I am a big Homeworld fan dating back to when the game first came out. One of my Hometowns was where Homeworld was originally conceptualized, designed, and programmed. Thank you for letting me join.

My first question that has haunted me ever since is... why is there not more Homeworld merchandise available for order to the public? Where were the shirts? How about toys like a scaled version one of the Mothership with lights and sound? Any more CD soundtracks other than the one packaged in the Game of the Year edition? Any stickers and patches made available? Portfolios or sketchbooks of the conceptualized designs? It saddens me there wasn't more merchandise since the franchise was marketed amazingly well, has such a loyal following, and won so many awards. It is set a benchmark but it didn't offer more to the fanbase. Any information people could convey me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. :confused:

actually, I vaugely remember finding the site of some guy that was building a model of the Junkyard dog out of wood and painting it 'n stuff. If I remember the linkie I would post it....

I'd love a model of a Hiigaran Heavy Corvette (Hiigaran ships r so pretty!) and a model of a Taiidan Assault Frigate. (I love all those guns, its so spikey. Looks more dangerous than the Hiigaran one, like a giant porcupine)
I also prefer the look of the Hiigaran strike craft to the Taiidan, and I wasn't a big fan of the Cataclysm Somtaaw Acolytes. They looked kinda silly to me.
I really liked the Somtaaw Dreadnaughts though. It was a such a self contained package of death.
Its a real shame they've never released ship models. The ships in the Homeworld series have such a distinctive feel, they'd look good in most peoples collection of random sci fi stuff.
There's practically no way you could look at them and go "Whats that?" if you'd never played Homeworld. They scream "cool frickin space ship" from every engine port.

Oh btw, I'm new too. Just registered ten minutes ago!
