Okay so this is the post on what things the prepatch mod changes, please keep in mind that this mod does NOT bring back the beast build bug where EPA to built resulted in ships costing half the actual RU cost, nor is the missile vette missile volley returned either.
First of all a list of the bugs fixed in the patch to remind everyone which ones were worked on:
- recorded games now play back without sync errors
- Beast build power allocation does not decrease cost of ships
- cannot hyperspace Processor attached to crystal being processed
- computer opponents now behave consistently with difficulty setting
- computer player can no longer build external ships without a hangar module
- fixed various computer player problems
- no longer possible to research two Beast technologies at the same time
- fixed various multiplayer sync errors
- ships retired at allied ships give resource units (RUs) to correct player
- ship group 10 added
- ships can now be assigned to multiple groups
- re-linking ACV will not recharge their EMP energy
- Leeches are no longer shown with a tactical overlay without advanced sensors
- cannot fire Siege Cannon at point blank range and hyperspace away unharmed
- Beast Missile Corvette can no longer fire all missiles at once
- can no longer cheat with modified support unit data
Now for the prepatch mod changes.
Somtaaw:
Mimics/MCVs
- SUs decreased back to 2 for mimics and 4 for MCVs
Carrier
- support mods cost increased from 300 to 500 RUs
- support mods build time increased from 30 to 50 seconds
- support mod health decreased from 6000 to 5000
Command ship
- support mods cost increased from 300 to 500 RUs
- support mods build time increased from 30 to 50 seconds
- support mod health decreased from 6000 to 5000
- Hanger mod cost increased from 1000 to 1250 RUs
- Hanger mod SUs provided decreased from 30 to 20
- advanced engineering mod cost increased from 1350 to 1750 RUs
- advanced engineering mod build time increased from 135 to 175 seconds
- energy cannon fire time increased from 1.0 to 1.2 seconds
Beast:
Heavy corvette
- cost decreased from 350 to 250 RU
- build time decreased from 40 to 35 seconds
- support units required decreased from 5 to 4 ***
- maximum velocity increased from 500 to 550 m/s
Carrier
- cost decreased from 3500 to 3400 RU
- build time decreased from 300 to 280 seconds
- health increased from 40000 to 45000
Worker
- health decreased from 3800 to 3700
- maximum resource unit (RU) capacity increased from 470 to 500
PLEASE NOTE!!!!
I did not change the EMP stun times from the patch settings as I felt this was not a big enough issue to warrent changing. As a matter of fact only a few ships had actually been changed to increase their stun times.
*** Please be aware that in the build manager for beast the heavy vette will still be listed as having an SU cost of 5, this is a COSMETIC listing only and does not reflect the actual .shp stat changes. If anyone knows how to make that cosmetic change please let me know so I can add that to the mod and prevent confusion.
Now to the install/uninstall quickly part.
First you need to know where cataclysm is on your hard drive. For me it is on my C drive in the directory cataclysm (C:\Cataclysm). What happens is 2 new directories will be added to the cataclysm directory called race_sect and race_beast, they will appear as such: C:\Cataclysm\race_sect and C:\Cataclysm\race_beast. In these directories will be the files I have modified to make the changes listed above override the patch settings for each race.
What I do to "un-install" the changes, to set cata back to the patch settings, is add a 1 to the end of each directory like so: C:\Cataclysm\race_sect1 and C:\Cataclysm\race_beast1. Cataclysm looks for the directories only if they match exactly the ones in the big file and ignores ones with similar names so adding the 1 to the end of the directories disables the mod quickly and efficiently. You can do this while on WON by returning to your desktop and using explorer to change the directory names. You will however NEED to restart cataclysm so it will reload the patch settings. To once again re-enable the mod all you would need to do is remove the 1 in each directory's name and restart cataclysm if it is running. Please let me know if you do not understand what I mean.
Good luck and have fun!
