Just wondering if they could combine homeworld II and impossible creature gameplay concept for an expansion. For example, you could first research the interceptor and the attack bomber, then you get an research option "strike bomber" where you basically stick plasma bomb onto the interceptor. You can aslo stick plasma bomb onto a covette chasse or sticking pulser beam not attack bomber.

Just a thought,

bash welcome.

What would happen if cap guns ended up on a scout? You could possibly make another thread talking about teh physic unreality of that... or not.

Well, we could just put animals in HW.. you know, the lobster scount, or the tiger frigate.. you know, whale ms. It's all possible.

Jokes aside, I can see how it would work You got Chassis, Engines, and Weapon slots. You got 3 or 4 different sizes. Fighter, Frigate and Capital.

But we all know it's not like this.

...most RTS's are ruined by just plain...monotony, of customization were a part of this game, monotony would be less common, since no one will have the EXACT same armada. Not only that, but like IC, it'll allow the player to mold a armada that fits their playing style, and will not be limited to what the game designers though was "good."

Just my :2cents:

Actually, the idea of customizing your own ships is a pretty nifty idea. (I give all credit for this idea to Relic's Impossible Creatures).

The customization probably wouldn't be too vast; just something like changing around the guns on a cruiser or carrier, just so it doesn't seem the same every time.

Players would also have to look closer when they spot an enemy fleet. Instead of saying "oh, I see an enemy cruiser over there! better prepare my attack forces!", you would have to check on what kind of guns the cruiser is packing. It may have more ions and less anti-fighter turrets, or the other way around.

I wouldn't reccommend this idea to an actual selling game; it sounds more like a future HW2 mod idea ;)

...if anyone finds this idea interesting, let me know. We may be able to get started on it :D

I think it is indeed rather impossible... and what about the size of the ships? And I think it'd be easier to mod IC to HW than vice versa, since IC has all the combining things in it allready and you'll only need to add "creatures"=ships...

ships ? sheeps ?
grass chewing ships ?

of course it could be done. but the gravity is hard to remove.

Relic has said that there are upgradable systems. Maybe you can upgrade weapon systems too. The description for the 3D Assault frigate on the homeworld2 homepage says that Pulsars are a possible upgrade. This would probably make it less effective against fighters, but a good covering anti corvette and capital ship.
