I don't rightly know if Relic's team realizes that they've effectively ruined Eldar with the constant stream of nerfs to guardians and reapers, but all I'm seeing is that Eldar are simply outclassed by every race early game now. The only decent thing they have going early game is rangers which are capped out at 1. Considering you have to save your power and req and not get a farseer to even stay competitive, and to get the warlocks necessary to fight tau, you have little to no hero killing ability. Your guardians, which should form the backbone of your early game army have literally zilch hitpoints, and with the nerfs to damage against heavy inf, they stand no chance of doing a thing against marines, or chaos, with their low HP and low melee damage they stand no chance against firewarriors or kroot (especially not when their commander spams snare on it's zero cooldown), and the same goes for orks. If you take rangers, you can decently fight IG, and Orks, as they do pitiful damage to marines and chaos, and tau units do such insane ammounts of damage that they've done their job before you can even break a squad. Reapers, it's the same story, they have tiny range now, only a little further than a guardian instead of the four times a guardian's range in tabletop, they have very few HP, and now, do near abysmal damage for something that is meant to counter heavy inf.
THen we get to tier 2. If you're fortunate enough to make it this far with Eldar, then you must either have a bad opponent or have uber micro. In either case, you're greeted with nada, not a thing worth having. While marines get their insanely effective Grey Knights, you get a harlequin, that can jump around once and look really cool before dying, accomplishing all of nothing in the process. By this time your opponent, no matter what he's playing has a good counter for your army, while you have nothing that can serve as a decent counter in return. Tier 2 is a long one for Eldar, because you'll need to keep building tier 1 units and reinforcing those that you have, because they're garbage, as previously stated. Because it takes a long time to amass the surplus resources you need to get your vehicle building, and research mobilize, your opponent will almost always have good vehicles before you, mostly due to the fact that you've had to spend the entire first half of the game running away from him. In other words, by the time you have wraithlords, your opponent already has either
A) His tier 1 units upgraded to kill them. (rocket marines and the like, or,
B) Vehicles of his own, that are simply put BETTER.
Why the falcon is a joke in DoW, I don't think I'll ever know, but it's a farcry from the d3 pulse laser firing, star-cannon toting, CTM sporting, holofield using beast in tabletop.
In short, buff Eldar early game, they have the lowest win percentage, and yet you nerf them every version I've seen, and I'm getting rather sick of it. I'm hoping another 40K computer game made by a different company will come out soon, so I don't have to deal with this same frustration of being given the choice of playing a race I don't like, or 60-some odd percent of my games to people who are not any more skilled, and just picked better races.
