New Player: How do I...

Sorry for the probably stupid question, but I haven't been able to figure out this on my own, just got the game for Christmas.

Whenever I use a targetable ability like Frag Grenades or even using the Move-attack command, a big box shows up in the middle of my screen telling me how to use them. I've tried turning the hint boxes to Low in the option screens, but that doesn't get rid of it. Can this be removed somehow? Thanks.

hmmm....i think you can only put it to low....

there are ways to get rid of the whole HUD...

I'm pretty sure that setting it to low is ur only option if ur not willing to mod the game itself.

Can't argue with the interface decision.... "Hey, upon attempting to use an ability let's convert the unit options section into a huge area of wasted grey space with a blue back arrow crammed into one corner and take up half the battlefield view with the help text!"

One for the suggestion box perhaps.

um...it happens
i perfectly recall what you're talking about
it doesn't happen anymore to me
only in WA
and when it did happen,
i don't mind it
as the tool tip was transparent anyways

Oh well, thanks for the responses. It's not a gamebreaking deal or anything, just rather annoying. On a side note, if you go to options and default move to attack-move, the box doesn't show up for that, but still does for other things like using Smite.

I'm playing the original DoW (got Winter's Assault too, but want to play though the whole thing first), and it's shown up on the Single Player and Skirmish modes.

I tried that once and found it really really annoying.

Can you post a screenshot of this "Box" that shows up perhaps?
