OK so like when i installed sp4 it crashed and to cut a long story short i had to reinstall win2k. BUT

now on my add remove programs dialogue it only lists the stuff i've installed since i reinstalled windows so 99% of my stuff doesn't appear on the list of things i can uninstall. Anyway i can make windows update that list ?

I think the only way to update it is to reinstall each program manually, though I dont see a reason to do that. All your programs should work, and to uninstall, each program should have its own uninstaller. My question is, how did you manage to keep all your programs in youir computer even though you reinstalled windows. To reinstall windows, you have to format , therefor deleting everything......

Thats strange..... maybe you only need to format when you completely uninstall and install a diff verson..... A well, Does the add/remove thing pose a problem, or is it just an inconvinience? If its an inconvienience- I suggest leaving it as is

You do not have to format/partition when you reinstall. You can elect to simply reinstall over the top with most versions. In Win2k, if memory serves, you can elect to upgrade an existing version even if that version is Win2k.

As for the Add/Remove programs list, it is controlled by registry keys, so if you have a backup of your old registry from before the reinstall you could find the particular section, export and reimport into the new one.
