Working my way to lvl 5 its always been GL HF GG ect. I never get mad when I get beat I just figured I played bad and they took advantage of it. Now in the last 2 days I got several players that would say some very UnNice things as they lost.

One guy even accused me of exploiting a weeknes in the Game. On Sem he never came out of his base so I ran Wire and Tank traps all accors the front line. He tried one time to come out with 4-5 Squads which got totaly mowed down my Volks with BPs and Flamers. I sat around so long I had nothing to do with all my MP and Ammo so I made 3 Walking Stukas and started Bombing his base. He finaly got a Croc out and headed to my base which met 2 ATs and several Gran with scherks. As he disconnected he said a few very nice things to me. At one point I even said Hey dude its War, am I suppose to let you out to kill me?

I just wondered if it gets worse as you go higher in Rank.

TBH I haven't ever had any problems. Level 7 at the mo. What you did in a way was an exploit of the games mechanics, but what he was doing also was ludicrous. You can't just sit back and wait, especially on Semois.

What you did is only an exploit if someone is stupid enough to let it happen. Getting wired into your base is one thing, but tank traps take a while to build, and to completely wall him in is hilarious.

EDIT - Actually, one time when I was starting out, some kid sent a Tiger to my base as I was winning on Semois. I destroyed it with AT and Rangers and he called me a fag and drophacked me.

Well I personaly dont like the word Exploit. I played UO and SWG for years and even when I new an exploit I would never use it. I learned how to Pin after having it happening to me several times. Every startagy you read talks about wiring choke points ect. I was just so bored after not seeing him I didnt know what else to do. He basicly OPed his 2 Ammos and 1 Fuel and was sitting back ready to make tanks. The 3 Walking Stukas took everything out he built in the fron and after the Match I looked and he had to rebuild every thing again farther back.

Ive stopped playing ranked games, (weirdly it was after posting a similiar post and getting the advice - play unranked 2v2, 3v3 etc)

My experience was that at low levels it was OK - a few morons and spammers but generally civilised, at high levels it was very civilised, but in the 4-6 zone there were a lot of players who were obviously very angry that they were losing more than their fragile egos could take.

I suggest hang in until you get up the ladder, or join the un-ranks of the great unwashed!

I dunno about you but I find it extremely amusing when people start whining in games and saying random stuff. Especially when they accuse me of cheating because whatever he says I cheated actually has a perfectly logical reason behind it.

It realy dont bother me in the least. My IG name is Alanis and anyone that plays me will say Im always frendly and I normaly ask questions if Im getting beat. If alot of people knew I was also 51 they would probly be madder when they lost. When the Match system was bad I got matched at lvl 3 aganist HeroicCompany and Warchildsuprize 2 times along with several other 10+. They were all real freindly and would even give some advice.

I think the general rule is that the better you are, the more you're accused of cheating.

That's why in the Relicnews versus Homeworld Universe HW game way back when, soul and reki got accused of cheating while dmille and myself got asked if our keyboards were working. :p

It's unfortunately the downside of any competition, deal with it or play unranked! :).

I'm not playing ranked games atm either but thats because they'll do a stat wipe soon anyway, so I figured I might aswell play "less stressy" unranked games and gain some skill so I can jump in on the competition again once the wipe took place.

I don't understand what's the problem with ranked games. It's a perfect test of one's abilities. Sure there are some inbalances in the game, and really good players will exploit it.

I don't see any game breaking inbalances in CoH at the moment, especially for 1v1 Maps. If we're talking about AWM, that's a real late game advantage. With 1v1 Games decided on the basis on how you fight with Tier 1 and 2 troops early game.

My buddy actually joined a tournament once..(i think it was the initial WCG prelimnaries). he won a couple of games, but lost to an eleven year old....lol. We had a chuckle outta it. (we're two rather aging, married gamers).

The post game analysis? Not knowing your units or terrain (map) well, as well as hot keys (A must in competitive play) and very quick fingers. lol

Frankly, both of us, click..and click..and click our way through. Sometimes, the wifey or the kids would need our help and yes..we go afk during a match......nothing wrong if we lose.

Anyways, the stats will be wiped again and we'll all have to work our way up the ladder once again.

At the meantime, play more, learn your maps and just plain practice. I find a good way to learn is play a 3 v 1 AI Expert (yes..3 Expert AIs vs your humble self). you learn alot of micro in that..and of course you'll lose (if you win..i dont wanna play with you...that's inhuman). lol

I played a guy recently who just abused and swear like nothing i'v seen online before. Every 2 secs it was F U and UR A C I had enough and when I told him i was going to report him and send in the replay to relic he changed his tune really really quick.

Some people are just arsholes, I also got told to stop using an exploit when i used the blind spot in the church. These are ingame tactics that are free to be used by anyone.
