Many users have posted that if they have their \my documents\ directory on a network drive, that saving and loading save games is very slow.
Relic implemented a fix for this in a recent (1.5 and higher) patch.
Here's from Sauce...
Put a file called userdir.ini in your My Document/My Games/Company of Heroes directory. It should look like this but replace the path with what you want.
[userdir]
userdir=u:\gamedir
So, use the original \my documents\my games\company of heroes\ directory, and create a file called userdir.ini.
Add the text that Sauce indicated.
Replace u:\gamedir with the path to where you want your savegames to be in.
