I have searched around this forum and searched on google and stuff like that. and then I found out that no one have ever made a Azariah Vidya! the Great Father! the greatest blood raven! so I thought I would try out my green stuff abilities and other converting skills.
So this is how he looks like. But I dont know if I should do some more about the leg? ideas if any needed? And dont mind mold lines and strange spots of GS I will remove that...:D

Looks great, I also think that the staff looks great, and the GS on the shoulder guard. Can't wait to see it it done.

What kind of shoulder pad is the one on the bottom? Anyway, it looks great. And is that ball of tape supposed to be there?

FirebirdZero

i'm guessing he's using the tape to balance the staff and the arm for the pic.

Thanks for all the comments guys! :D I have put quite much work into it so happy that you guys like him;)
What kind of shoulder pad is the one on the bottom? I used a pad with some "dots" on and glued on a skull and made the horns of green stuff wich I think turned out really well... as did the staff... And by the way the tape was just to balance the staff as firebirdzero said..
UHH btw do anyone have a good idea of a cool looking base?? I really dont wanna make a normal one for this one...

That shoulder pad is the studded armor plating that was seen often in the Corvus armor and iterations prior to that. I, too, love the staff! Is seems to be the best overall use of the green stuff although I am looking forward to seeing how your chapter symbol turns out as well.

You could have him sliding down a large rock or hill, leading his brothers and shooting enemies as he descends.

The always reliable garden Rock would be a good shout for the base.

Just find a small piece of slate and break a bit off that would fit a 20mm base (roughly) and then gs/superglue him onto it.

Sometimes, a normal base is better than a big one with alot of scenery on it, but that's sometimes, so him standing on a rock like the others sugested would probably work. Just don't add too many items or colors to the base, or the center of attention would shift from the figure to the base.

Either you make a big base with a chapel-like scenery or stay with a standard one. The position of the legs doesn't allow to much. Now you know what would be great? If he would hold the staff in a vertical position so the bottom end of it would finish behind him. Oh damn wait I forgot to say that the conversion is cool :)

Thanks for the good ideas on the base. I actually found a base rubble thing that i think is cool. Only problem with it is that its a little small. But maybe I can make it a little bigger with some green stuff.
and I made some ligtning on one of the legs and made a scroll stuck on the armor on the other... :D
but here is the pic.. Would like comments on both please!;)

I know some of it is a little blured but think you still can see what it looks like... hope you like it!

Awesome idea and a great looking conversion you have there so far. Looks like you've done a rather nice job with the GS up to this point too. The lightning bolts on the right leg was a nice touch. I also like the cinture conversion ;).
I'd suggest going ahead with the piece you've picked out for the base if you really like it. Though I wouldn't go wasting GS to make it bigger when you could just paint some PVA glue over the dirt areas on the piece and on the rest of your base that isn't covered and glue on your own dirt. Should help you blend the two together well and save you some GS.
Can't wait to see what else you do for this mini.

Thanks for the comments Unforgiven.. but the thing I mean about its small is the diameter. not hight..
btw I am painting him in liberian blue colours and I think he should have something that is red to symbolise that he is a blood raven... but I dont know what to paint red? thinking about the arm holding the staff... need some suggestions.

The arm holding the staff is a good idea, but also what about the shoulder pads?

I have painted the base but its not all finished... still needs to put some grass on it... but here it is...

I may not work on him until I get the new paints and have experimented enough with them... Btw Comments please;)

Really nice weathering effects, especially on the scrap metal. I don't think it even needs grass.

I wouldnt put grass on the base, it looks nice as is.

Even if you wanted to put grass on that base, you would be hard pressed to find space to even put a single patch of grass.

I agree with the rest. Forget about the grass!

Overall it's a great model, but I think the book misses something painted on it.
Maybe the blood raven symbol, or a golden skull with wings?

very nice.

The book needs an Imperial Aquilia painted or GS'd onto it. Also, what are the two halo-looking thingies? From the celestine sprue or the SM HQ sprue?

I don't like the head ( never liked that one) but solid painting and convertion is great.

It looks great, but the positioning could be better, like someone said earlier. It could be going back behind the guy, as if it were his walking stick and he just took a step.

I think that those are Iron Haloes fromt he SM sprue, Major_Blackhart. Good model overall. I think that the right arm looks a bit too static, more like a banner pole than a force staff. I also agree that the book is too plain and needs a little embellishment. Nicely done, however.

I think you might need to think about that hood too, he isn't even wired up to it nor is is having any type of connection to his head. I guess he could have a wireless connection? heh.

Pretty decent conversion, though as some mentioned, the book looks a little bland IMO. Also I have one question on the paint scheme. Now I'm no Blood Ravens expert by any means, so feel free to correct me, but why is there so much blue on this guy? His entire suit, but the right arm it looks like, is blue, and honestly, were it not for the fact that you mentioned Blood Ravens, at first sight I wouldn't have guessed that was his chapter. Yeah he has some Blood Raven symbols on him, but still I think there's just too much blue, given my limited knowledge of the Blood Ravens. If he's suppose to be that way for whatever reason by Blood Ravens Fluff, then so be it.

I have no idea who this character is, but he's armed with a Force Staff so that leads me to believe he's either a Librarian or a Librarian Captain or something like that. And of course, if that proves to be the case, we all know that Librarians wear mainly blue armour. Of course parts of their armour will bear the Chapter's Heraldry and Colours (to do otherwise would be blaspheme!), but for the most part Librarians are mainly duked out in blue.

Thanks for the comments..
The Character i tried to make is: Azariah Vidya aka The Great Father...
He was master of both the chapter and libarium at the same time.. so that is why I painted so much blue on him(and god! that is a lot easier to paint then red!)...
And the reason why I didnt put so many chapter icons is that I very fast think that its to much..
and to the hood I was not able to put cables in there.. it just too damn little room to work with!
Btw I havent seen or heard anything about what he looks like so I basicly just made it from what I think he looks like and such...
