How about positing something about the mod(story line,rough concept art etc)? Experienced modders wont go for a mod that has little to zero information about it.


Also you should probably post your own modding abilities, no one likes to work for someone who doesnt know how to do anything themselves.

Well a plot isn't really that essential for a strategy game is it? I know I don't play COH now for the plot, most mods out at the moment don't have plots. I think this mod sounds like it would be mostly played multiplayer/skirmish anyway. Good luck with it!

I am working on a mod for CoH too.

It's suposed to divided allied and german sides (using the tech trees... i guess you're doing the same) in three factions.

Nations are :

vihy france, germany and mayby japan.

french Units decsriptions (apologize for the mistakes... english is not my antural language) :

Resistance Saboteur :
The resistance saboteur is a civilian who received american gears from General De Gaulle
Free French Army. It's a single unit that act as an engineer.
It can use camouflage, demolitoins charges in many ways and cut wire ability.
It doesn't have any weapon or equipment upgrade.

Resistance Radioman :
The resistance radioman use his radio to reveal important positions to US Army planes.
It's an unarmed single unit that can call a P47 thunderbolt for scout, ground attack or bombing
missions.

Surveillance Van :
The Citroen Surveillance Van can reveal aeras on the map and build Observation posts.

Resistance observation post :
The observation post is invisible to the ennemy and reveal the aera around.
It can be build on ennemy territory.

Maginot Howitzer :
Even if it was used very stupidly by the french generals of 1940, the maginot line
was (and is still today) the most powerfull defense line ever created.
The Maginot Howitzer is built by the resistance saboteur and is similar to the US
Howitzer...exept it can move.

Colonial Infantry Squad :
After the defeat of 1940, french colonies were not occupied by Germany. It was a huge opportunity
for the officers of french army who followed De Gaulle to recruit a large amount of soldiers.
The colonial infantry is equiped with US equipment given by De Gaulle or the US. They are
similar to US Riflemen squads exept they can't have the Browning and can't make suppression
fire.

Freedom Fighter :
French army was using, as Germany did, a lot of moto units for recon missions. Those
units were still used in the resistance, called as "freedom fighters". This unit is similar
to german moto.

French Infantry with MAS36 rifleS :
The MAS36 was the rifle used by french army in 1940. A lot of soldiers wanted to keep
this rifle after the armistice, using it very skilly. The principal caracteristic
of the mas36 was a grenade launcher fixed on it.
This unit is a poor trained but cheep unit. The squad can use the "fire grenade ability"
once every minute to damage tanks. It has no others grenades or abilities. Futhermore,
the unit panics very easily compared to the US of British soldiers.

French Infantry with flamethrowers :
A squad of 5 men with flamethrowers. Similar to MAS36 units exept they can use the grenade
lauch ability. Low morale.

French Infantry with Chatellerault SMGs.
The Chatellerault SMGs was clearly the better SMGs of 1940. In 1944, it stays a very good
SMG, exept it can't make suppression fire. The squad is composed of 5 men. Also low morale and HP.

French Grenadier.
The grenadier is an historical unit specialised in tank destruction. It's a single french
soldier that can use camouflage ability and fire with it's MAS36 grenade laucher to damage
tanks. Note that a single grenadier has no chance to kill a tank in one shot. Shot... and move !

Mortar Section ;
Standart 60m mortar.

Maginot Mobile Bunker.
the Maginot mobile bunker is a ingenious system. It's a low armored bunker (less HP than
the German One) but it is motorized so you can change it's position on the map. Note that
it looses it's moving ability if it is too much damaged.

Lorraine 37L Tractor :
The Lorraine Tractor was cretaed in 1940 when the french soldiers understood the superiority
of German tanks...to late.
It was created by fixing destroyed tanks canons on civilian tractors.
In 1944, it was still used by French Army to destroy light tanks as the Panzer IV or armored cars.

Panhard Armored Car :
The Panhard is a light armored car equiped with a rapid 20mm canon. It can completly annihilate
infantry but it is useless against vehicules (even puma or halfracks). Note it is very cheep.
It is also very slow compared to a Jeep.

M1 Canon :
The standart Allies Canon...

Hotchkiss H39 marder I Tank :
The Hotchkiss H39 was the standart french tank of 1940. It was very well armored
for a 1940 tank. After the defeat of 1940, Germany used a modified version of the Hotchkiss H39
called "Marder 1". It had an octogonal turret (the same as the ostwind) and a rapid fire 37mm
canon. Germany allowed Vichy france to use this tank in it's army. But the tanks sent to french
colonies were captured by Free French Forces and used against Germany from 1943 to 1944.
The Free French Forces version has a second antitank canon of 75mm on the front.

This Tank is exellent against infantry, Stug and Panzers IV, even if it is low armored.

B1 Bis Tank :
Certainly the best tank of 1940. This tank couldn't be destroyed except by german 88 canons.
The latest versions used a 75mm canon. This tank, wich was a "Super heavy" tank in 1940, could
still be used to destroy some Panzers IV easily in 1944. Note it is VERY slow.

Leclerc 2nd Armored Division Sherman :
Standart Sherman execpt if fights under french colours.

ARL44 heavy Tank :
The ARL44 was built secretly by french enginners during the war. It was finished in 1944 and
fought very well during the battle of France. It was composed whith elements of the B1 Bis and
captured German Panthers.

Probably a bit too ambitious for a CoH mod ;).
I have yet to see any mod that implements new vehicles, units, weapons, etc.
(And just Russia alone is TONS of work, not to mention that you'll need custom maps to go with that, also requiring custom textures.)

And atm it's impossible to add animations to the models, due to lack of tool.


But good luck ;).
You'll need alot of people who can model and skin, no doubt.
