I like the Number of tanks and heavy/special weapons. I don't like the low body count. But of course your tanks might blow the enemy's troops to kingdom come (especially in a 1000 pts game) so you won't have to worry about your guys too much...your armor should kep the enemy busy.

I believe your veterans have to have Chimeras.

I am not using Mechanized Doctrine, so no.
HQ squad and Grenadiers can take Chimeras.

I'd put your 3 LC in normal GM squads with more meat between them and death. SS doctrine gives you close to similar odds to hit, and its only 85 [95 with SS doc.] points per squad if you forgo special weapons. You pay a primum price for vetrans that doesnt warrent the cost if you dont take advantage of their extra special weapon slots...using a few vets as a meat shield just to get BS 4 isnt worth it IMO.

Your 2 sqauds of ST can easily ber fielded as elites choices. You'd have to have another CS for the Inf. Platoon though... but you could drop 1 GM squad and put the third LC in the CS, problem solved (maybe not pointwise...didnt check)

Generally when people put Mech IG in the title it means they're actually playing a mechanized list. I may have assumed, but your title was misleading. :p

Two platoon plus Chimera for all of them easily beats the point cost limits, so no, its simply impossible.
The point of the Entire list is too get as many Tanks as possible, infantry is minor.

You can go with 1 platoon + Chimeras and an Armoured Fist sqd as Troops.

To give a platoon Chimera, you have to take Mech Doctrine, which means everyone needs to be in a Chimera.
Thus the entire platoon would need three of them, then the HQ needs one, the armor fists need another one.
All the costs probably add up to 1000 already, i wouldnt be able to take Russes.
The platoon probably wont have as many LCs, since you need to waste time on command squad and you have to protect it to keep your leadership. Putting a LC in there dramaticly decrease the survivability of that 5 men unit.
They cant infiltrate either. Vets can infiltrate in cover, while the enemy should be focusing on shooting my tanks.

You're right that your opponent should be concentrating on your tanks but only with anti-tank weapons. Heavy Bolters and the like will still be targeting your troops as will assault units. This isn't a criticism of the list, just food for thought.

Hmm well, the Vehicles can probably block LoS, limiting the amount of fire that can be pour on my infantry, but i see the point.
Its hard to find that balance sometimes.

If youre not using your other doctrine points, you might as well get the CC-improving one, i believe its free and GM suck in CC, so it may help, even just a little

They cant use it as they are not Guard-infantry.

Grenadiers are guard infantry, I believe. They use stormtroopers' stats, but they are different fluff wise.

Codex IG, page 55:

Guard Infantry
In several of the following Doctrine descriptions, the term Guard Infantry is used. In this context, the definition includes any command squad along with its Officer and any attached advisors, Anti-tank squads, Fire Support squads, Special Weapons squads (if the regiment may use them), Mortar squads, Hardened Veteran squads, normal Infantry Platoon squads and Armoured Fist squads.

Grenadiers aren't guard infantry.
If by the "free CC-improving one" you mean Close Order Drill: that can only be applied to units in infantry platoons and conscript platoons.
So either way, the Grenadiers can't use it.
