Unfortunately I cannot get the Geforce 4-Go (Laptop Geforce) to run at a decent framerate.
Hopefully I will be able to resolve this, but don't necessarily expect this game to work on a laptop.

Why are you so miffed about the framerate on a laptop?
Most of em ain't spec to play games very well except those super expensive ones from Alienware.

I am surprised because it runs Rise of Nations, Impossible Creatures, Simcity 4 and other NEW games with no slowdown @ 1024x768

Again, try newer drivers for your vid card... if you check the HW2.log file you posted earlier, it's showing you with a funny driver version.

I can not believe how beautiful the game looks on my GF4 MX440!
I had problems at first. The frame rate was not too good above 800*600, and everything looked kinda fuzzy. Also, everytime a ship hyperspaced or docked with another ship the texturing was horribly corrupted.
I downloaded new drivers from Guru3D.com, and that fixed some of my problems. After about an hour of tweaking settings I am able to run HW2 at 1024*768 on highest detail with no slowdown! There are no more texture problems; everything looks sharp and crisp; and the effects look totaly incredible!
So, if anyone out there is worried about their GF4 MXs, Don't.
All that said, I am still planning to upgrade to a better graphics card. I am running on a xp2800+, and I would like the GPU to be at the same "tech level." Also, I want to be able to run the upcoming MOH games at the highest detail settings.

I have a Trident Video Accelerator, do I even have a chance to get this to work?
I have a satilite 1800, it meets all the other min specs/

Monkey, I can't say yes or no absolutely, but I'm leaning towards no. Check the HOW TO thread at the top of this forum for the game's readme.txt file... it's got more info for you.

well I read through it.
this might be the problem:

UTIL -- filepath failure, path doesn't exists 'C:\PROGRA~1\Sierra\HOMEWO~1\data\locale\english'
Uing ..profiles\ for profiles folder
Changing from a 32 bit colour depth in winNT (5.1 build 2600), Service Pack 1
Using Trident's 1.2.1 Blade XP/AGP renderer (Suspected driver is 0)

SOUND -- created destination [ fda streamer ], handle [ 5 ] with [ 8 ] channels created

the "Suspected driver is 0" is a clue
where can i go to update my driver?
