How many of you have left-clicked on the Vaygr Carrier in m02 to check its stats? Notice that it only has ONE production slot, 2 module slots and the sensor slot. The Fighter Facility goes on the top and I guess the 'vette one does too while the Frigate Facility goes on the bottom. Interesting yes?

Now that IS interesting... however, how is one production slot going to accomodate 3 different sizes of ships?

Perhaps each Vaygr Carrier is specialized in the effect that it can only build one class of ship, however it does so at an improved cost rate, speed or something else. If this is true, then then means the Vaygr fleet construction is radically different than that of the Hiigarans, should prove quite entertaining :)

Good noticing that.

notice the difference in these to shots

Shot 1 (http://www.well-of-souls.com/homeworld/hws/hw2/images/display.htm?hw2_03042401.jpg)

Shot 2 (http://www.angelfire.com/rpg2/jajujostudios/ss00011.jpg)

In the first shot there is a tub (frigs?) and in the second shot there is a fighter facility clearly marked

Seems to go along with the idea that vaygr are special purpose and hiigarans are multipurpose.

My guess would be that the tub is just the default, with no subsystems, like on the hiigaran carrir the launch bays are there even with no subsystems built.

Perhaps it got any usefull guns on it then ? Then it would fill the battle support role i expect of a carrier. Wich the higaran carrier does not (its a harwesting station!!)

There is a sub-system that goes on the Vaygr carrier that blocks the entire top bay. So I also think they are special purpose.

It would be cool if this were the case.

Again, anyone who watched during the SP will note that the fighter facility is huge, and sits inside the bay that we have seen frigates coming out of. If it is true that the vaygr carrier can only produce one type of ship at a time, it would make them quite important to the vaygr -- and hopefully cheap, as well. This would simulate a Zerg-like ability to pump out units like there were no tomorrow.

That would be cool, though. Fighters drop out the bottom, frigates come out the top. Booyah.

Athenor Are you sure you an't thinking of the mother ship? Both the carrier and MS look alike.
