Here's what's up!

Source code for the page has each day contained a new pair of lat / long coordinates. The first one was centered on Relic's offices in Vancouver, BC.

This calls for a look below the surface, maybe.

1. The page's source code has become very spartan -- only around 25 lines of code -- but to someone with knowledge of HTML, the change looks purposeful. This is a sign that its previous HTML was purposefully deleted (otherwise, a broken clump of the previous HTML would probably still be hanging around; instead we have a clean redesign).

2. The image is not just some misaligned background image, but a centered image. Its file name is "1s.jpg".

3. There is only one HTML comment (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Html_comment_tag#HTML_comment) buried in the code:

Those look like IP addresses. I looked up the first and got this very spartan info (http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/whois.ch?ip=49.17.08.88). The second is for some Chinese website (http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/whois.ch?ip=123.07.06.00). Don't really have much to do with Relic that I can see, so they may not be IP addresses after all. Neither one loads an actual webpage.

Firstly, no company takes down there website and puts an image as a placeholder without a reason.

If relic were putting up a new site, it would'nt take this long. The website would be coded and cut then put up.

They've put this image up for a reason, either a relaunch of the website to coiencide with New Info about COH:OF or DOW2. Simple As.

They havent run out of money, or just decided "HEY THE OLD SITE SUCKED, LETS PUT UP THIS IMAGE INSTEAD"

There is reason and motive behind it, seems quite viral to me...viral marketingisnt below anyone, all companies use it, Bungie etc.

The numbers buried in the website's HTML are clearly easy to spot, due to the large amount of source code that has been deleted in the "peculiar redesign." It isn't outlandish to suspect it might mean something.

This is very intresting. The two smaller horizonal bands are much more distinctive thant he two wider bands, and it's possible that they are letters, or even words, but its very low resolution. Some symbols look like letters, but that could just be wishfull thinking, or coincidence. Still, the small horizontal band isn't just noise, it seems to be a series of characters or letters, although it isn't readable.

I'm no expert, but if those smaller bands were just noise, then they wouldn't make such a pattern when blown up and inspected. Of course, its highly possible that it's just wiishfull thinking and random behaviour.

'Distorted' video most likely fits a scifi theme. And more specifically, a dark scifi theme (disaster and such), rather than Homeworld's clean style. My money is on something DOW-related, as the COH style seems to be 'in the action' rather than pretending to be a camera.

Well they could be annoucning a game dont you know how the mine moves in the intro in dow.

It goes up the chain shows the whole mine and relics name then it zomes out showing more of the mine.

Last the pitcure darkens to ptich black and show the game name.

So it could be possible that its doing a slow move of the intro advvertisement thats in the game but instead of dawn of war warhammer 40k it may show something new such as a game. Check it out just let you intro play through with the mine and you see the game name pop up so when this thing finish we will find out whats gonna come after the mine :D

If they did, they would end up with two products relatively close together in their release dates that would compete with each other. They may, but I doubt it. In regards to DoW2, they may announce it. The way I see it, the lack of support for DoW recently and the silence of Buggo means one of two things: That Relic has dropped DoW in favor of other projects or that they are planning something completely unrelated to the original DoW (so no updates) and are keeping us in the dark until they are ready. If they were going to support the original DoW, we would have heard of something by now. If, however, they were going to drop it, I would think that they would tell us. So this could be a sign of DoW2, but thats just speculation. HW3, that would be a surprise, and I'm sure it would make a lot of people happy, but I just don't see it happening.

As far as the website redesign, I don't think that all they are doing is updating the website. It doesn't take a very long time to do that, and as mentioned before you wouldn't take down all the legal and contact information. Furthermore, why would they put a distorted, cut off image of their logo on the webpage, and go through the trouble of changing the name of the picture, as well as give us numbers associated to the location of their HQ? To much trouble for a simple webpagfe update.

I think that they will announce either:
DoW2, for numerous reasons,
the last 'unannounced' project Buggo mentioned,
HW3, as unlikely as I think it is, it makes more sense than competing against yourself.

I tried just about everything Photoshop CS2 has to see if there is any hidden clues or messages or anything in the pictures just to silence any speculation on that aspect, and no I did not find anything if anyone was wondering. If there is any hidden messages or anything really significant within the picture it's very well hidden.

You know what would make me laugh so hard? If the trailer for whatever's gonna happen starts out looking like the forestry sim. You have a slow pullback from a forest, deep booming voice over saying humanity is about to face it's greatest foe, show a couple of guys chainsawing trees, and then zoom out to some WH40k or CoH area somewhere else.

Has anyone figured out what the filenames of the pics could possibly mean, yet?

I had some theories, but "3ex" somehow wiped them all out at once with a massive blow ^^

It's entirely possible that the filenames don't mean anything... the numbers might be the order that they're supposed to be posted in, while the letters could be just chosen at random in order to keep people from being able to guess what the next image filename is (or as a red herring to throw people off.)

Out of curiosity, has anyone looked at the more recent numbers as anything other than coordinates? There's always the possibility of some little bit of sneakiness being done by Relic, hiding things in plain sight but folks not realizing it because they're too busy looking at the coordinates of Relic's new secret base where they're developing the forestry sim.

As another thought... if the coordinates don't line up in a straight line on a map, has anyone tried plotting them on a globe, etc.?

I think its pretty safe to say relic is not announcing ANOTHER game with this, they have ther hands busy with OF and they are not some huge company like EA. I guess a website relaunch.

They have a team on OF, a team on the unnanounced but obviously on its way DoW 2 and probably at least one other team on another sekrit project.

I hope everyone remembers the video at the end of Dark Crusade, with the explosions on the planets and the text "2007"?

Because that had obviously nothing at all to do with OF, so my guess is that it had something to do with this. It's not an expansion, it's a new game, and it has something to do with space. So.... Homeworld does seem likely.

Ya i would have to say it's pretty safe to say that Relic IS working on another game, because COH was in development at the same time as WA and DC and DOW was in development at the same time as HW2 so it's not like they don't have the man power to work on more than one project at the same time.

And God willing this game had better be DOW2 or I'll turn to the darkside and become some sort of sith-like Starcraft fan and spend my free time trolling the DOW boards
