I thought about this today, why not if your ally drops be given the option to add computer to take over you will be able to choose the computers skill?

This will help by eliminating the hassle for you to fight multiple opponents with a small army at cap, this will also prevent your ally from dropping and leaving you his population.

Again it will be opinional to add CPU not forced...

edit: i would just like to thank relic for adding this feature, this shows that they do listen to their community. Also relic do you know if the AI difficulty is set on easy/normal/hard/expert depending on the opponents or allies rank

have a sliding scale of CPU level vs rank, and make it the rank of the account being played, ie level 1-3 get easy level 4-6 normal etc.

it might not be ideal but better than current situation which is GG

Splendid idea!!

No, doesn't work like that. The AI is no good support at all. In fact it is such a terrible support, that even a level 2 player should be equal to hard AI and everything above level 3 equals extreme AI.

Against two human opponents, one normal AI will not do anything good. In fact, it is worse than no AI support at all, because it will suicide units en masse, feeding massive XP to your enemy without gaining anything useful. Easy and normal AI doesn't even use abilities in a useful fashion.

The remaining player would have to babysit the AI like crazy and the AI is totally incapable of coordinated operations.

This feature would be great if it was there as an option. Surely no one can deny the anguish they feel when 5 seconds into a game their parnter drops. It's cost me a few games, I can tell thee. IMO a cpu support would be better than no support. At least the cpu loves capping points. It would cause a distraction to your opponent at least, and give them something else to think about.

It just need one pop up question, when your partner drops.

"would you like a cpu ally?"

The choice is then yours.

Boogem makes an excellent point, I'd rather have an expert AI next to me than... nothing.

I still say a better idea is just giving (say its 2v2 and your partner drops) Double manpower, double munition, double fuel, and double popcap.

Right now they double manpower, but nothing else. At least that's my observation. I KNOW they don't increase your pop cap.

if its say 3v2 instead of double it should be 33%. Etc.

The AI would be unreliable at best. For good players, the AI would be a handicap. For bad players, you might actually WANT to drop your partner to get the AI (I join vs cpu games sometimes and some of the people I've played with can't take normals).

I think adding an increase in fuel and munitions is seriously needed. The manpower boost is great but it doesn't exactly help you tech up since fuel is still limiting.

The only advantage you have in a 1v2 is if your partner drops very early, you get command points at a much faster rate than either opponent since all points go to you. My partner didn't load into a 2v2 ranked early today and I ended up winning because I could field a Tiger much earlier than they could get a Pershing out. By the time one of them had a Pershing, I had 2 Tigers on the board for almost 10 minutes.

Maybe the only reason you don't get double munitions and double fuel is to limit fast teching to T4 or Tank Depot?

With all your extra manpower, I suggest putting some OPs on fuel so you can tech quicker than them.

It depends, if it's quite far into the game i'd rather gain control of his base and units then having an expert AI suicide his entire army into a wall of defence.

That is why the option is the perfect answer. If you want cpu say yes, if you want to go it alone, say no. Everybody's happy, which is a hard thing to achieve.

I would rather be given double the population cap to compensate. Although, my idea may not go over well since a person could really spam hardcore with that.
